Just got my earplugs and am getting ready to make the trek to Seattle. Tonights gonna rule.
September 12, 2007 at 11:58 am #131637Ok last nights show was cool in the fact that Band of Horses and Dinosaur Jr played great shows. Aside from that it was totally lame.
Camel propaganda was EVERYWHERE. You couldn’t walk 10 feet without bumping into a Camel represenative asking you to take a survey. After youtook there survey they handed out free packsof cigarettes, lighters, drink tickets, and a cool Dinosaur Jr poster. I didn’t participate in their surveys but I snagged a few posters anyway. I figured it would be bad but not way over the top like this was. It was really bad.
On an up note I bought that cool Dinosaur shirt with the Indian Chief. I got to talk with Lou a bit, and I was lucky enough to be on Dinosaur Jr’s guest list. Don’t ask me how I got on it, but I did. It was nice not having to wait in the super long line to get in. I had a separate line and walked right in. Not to mention it was free.
I have a photo of the setlist and will post it when I get the pic back (its on my friends phone).
Bob, I would have liked to meet you but looking around it seemed that really anybody could have been "Bob".
September 12, 2007 at 2:07 pm #131638when i went to a jaegermeister show once i was lucky to get a free shot. at least they were handing out cool stuff. free drinks and free cigs… cigs are expensive these days. im already going to hell.

What kinda poster.
September 12, 2007 at 3:02 pm #131640One was a Camel Poster with a band shot and the date of the show, the other was a pictire od a girl wearing headphones holding a 7" with a bite taken out of it. The seven inch said Band Of Horses, and atthe bottom it said Dinosaur Jr. I got a few of each. I’m going to frame them.

Occasionally someone (usually a pretty plastic-looking girl) would try to hail me as I walked by, but I completely ignored them. I was wondering what those posters were that many people were toting around. Do they still use the Joe Camel icon with the dick-and-balls face?
September 12, 2007 at 4:06 pm #131642You know I don’t recall seeing Joe Camel all night. Just the Camel logo everywhere. And yeah the girls did look pretty plasticky.

Perhaps I’ve gotten lamer as I’ve aged. What’s a drink ticket? Is that a like a free margarita? I like lighters………..I’m always searching for a lighter, I have a gas stove without an auto ignition……….I burn a lot of incense, I light a lot of candles .I have a whole drawer of colored smoke bombs.
I want a cool Dinosaur Jr poster. I’ll fill out their damn survey.I’ll just hate myself in the morning
………..but I’ll get over it.
September 12, 2007 at 6:45 pm #131644does anyone have a setlist from the show last night?
September 12, 2007 at 6:48 pm #131645yeah I snagged Lou’s setlist. I’ll post it sometime soon. They skipped two songs on it though

Har, har.
September 13, 2007 at 3:59 am #131649thanks much for posting. fwiw, i thought this was a pretty solid show. not as good as seeing them at the showbox for the first "reunion" tour, but better than the 2nd one they did at showbox.

I’m used to this type of visual pollution ’cause that’s all they have in the subway and bus terminals. When I go to town, it’s really hard to try to ignore the sheer amount of publicity shoved in your face, especially when you take the subway.
