I’m doing the winmx thing as well, just not as user friendly on a number of levels as audiogalaxy was Have gotten some cool stuff, but get a lot of nothing on searches for some not so obscure bands But hey its the best I’ve found since ag died, user name novocane749.

July 31, 2002 at 4:17 pm #70987OK so let me catch up with everyone if I may. I haven’t done anything with AG since I got a message saying I had to download the newest version of the sat. I didn’t down load the new version and have done nothing since.
So does AG work at all now even with the new Sat.? If I’m wanting to spend some time trying someting what would everyone recommend at the moment, keeping in mind I want nothing to do with a "spy version", and really nothing that is going to slow me down anymore then what is necessary.
Thanks for all that respond back and your help is always welcome! Sincerely, Chris
July 31, 2002 at 4:25 pm #70988Chris-the RIAA shut down AG`s file sharing so the new sat. does`nt help at all, there`s no songs to download except the ones that they have permission on,which is`nt much and you don`t need the sat for them.
August 1, 2002 at 2:00 am #70989I’ve been using WinMX and it kind of pisses me off. It’s sort of like Napster was. I’m less inclined to use it than I was audiogalaxy because it is much more of a pain in the ass. Perhaps part of my problem is I don’t know its ins and outs yet. But still, Audiogalaxy RIP.
August 1, 2002 at 1:27 pm #70990I’m using WinMX, too. I’m not too happy with it, but well … it works. I’m FlyingCloud365 there
If I don’t find something that should be there, because it’s not too obscure, I just hit the search button again. Seems it sometimes searches on different servers.
I tried to add more networks (a so called expert-only function they have) but that doesn’t seem to help very much.August 2, 2002 at 2:37 am #70991I’ve been using Kazaa, works just fine for me
August 2, 2002 at 11:36 am #70992The RIAA web site was hacked and shut down recently for a few days:

Flyingcloud I think I ran into you on winmx one time, was searching for Karl Hendricks Trio and found someone with two songs…

August 2, 2002 at 1:51 pm #70994yeah Allison, it could have been me someone sent me these two songs through the AG group, actually …
August 3, 2002 at 2:33 am #70995The story about the RIAA getting knocked off was FUNNY AS HELL! Congratulations to whoever did that one your my new hero
Way to go RIAA with your "no named spokesperson" comment. I’m sure you had a lot of time to think your comment up while you tired to find out what the hell happened.
