so i guess i won’t ever accept this kind of thingsNovember 23, 2002 at 8:08 am #83864Sophie, Drunk driving laws in North America are pretty tough for a pretty good reason, people get killed. No doubt we’ve all done it from time to time, sometimes good judgement is impaired by
From the sounds of it Wireland got burned by an ada with the extra days of house arrest which definitely sucked, better than jail though!!! Where I’m from if you have a blood level of 0.5 you are suspended from driving for 24 hrs, and have to pay a 40 buck reinstatement fee. Two or more of those in 3 yrs and you have to go thru a mandatory impaired drivers assessment at a cost of 270 bucks. If you are over 0.8 your car is impounded for 30 days at a cost of 300 bucks with a 3 month license suspension. With a repeat your car is impounded for 90 days at 600 bucks, both the over 0.8 reads also have criminal charges attached. Those can range from probation to jail for more serious offences like killing someone. We have all kinds of road checks during the holiday season, always get stopped several times, pretty good results though. Also have free bus service during the holidays and charities set up rides home on call thru december-jan, someone will drive you home in your car, donations accepted of course
Hope you enjoyed the Imax, we’re all geeks at heart
