Obsequio–
In case you haven’t scored your Fuzz Munchkin yet, my friend got his Fuzz Munchkin by liking Tym Guitars, following their webpage and facebook page, and asking them when they were going to be going up for sale. My friend sells and buys stuff on ebay and is into the whole limited edition/auction endorphin thing. Tym told him what day they’d go up for sale and gave him a window of time they’d be sold and my friend kept checking Tym’s facebook page for updates that day. You’ll be able to get one if you do the same. Have your credit card info ready, etc. as if you take too long to enter your shipping/credit card info you’ll get bounced out of the purchase window or whatever it’s called. Good luck!
November 28, 2012 at 4:18 pm #138957Does anyone know how far into the 300 Tym has made already? I haven’t seen them go up in a while…
January 16, 2013 at 9:17 am #138958Can’t believe it, but I got one this morning, woo hoo!
January 16, 2013 at 10:14 am #138959@osesqio score, well done mate!!! I never seem to be able to get one, I might go Aus this year and just raid the shop 🙂
January 16, 2013 at 10:20 am #138960Congrats!
What song did you get?
January 16, 2013 at 11:26 am #138961@empire2 I tried last night with no success. It was around 7:05 PM Eastern time. I had one in my cart but by the time I hit the checkout button it was gone.
This morning it went up around 6:58 AM and the different thing I did was to refresh the page using the book mark tab on my page instead of the refresh button. The refresh button was slow at times last night where as the favorite button acts like it was going to that page for the first time. It was a lot faster. I hit the checkout button and this time it cleared. I was very excited!
@Hybridge only the first 100 came with song titles. Though someone did ask if he was going to add songs from the new album while he was making them last week, I don’t think he did, but who knows. It appears that Tym is up to about 190 so far. One interesting thing I didn’t know about is one in every batch will come signed by J. I have plenty of autographs from J and have met him, so maybe not the biggest deal, but still very cool.I was a bit iffy regarding the price on this thing, but I am a guitar player and I’m having a custom amp made by Gabriel Amps. It’s totally worth it. J has never found another one that sounds like his and these are clones of that. Big Muffs are well revered and a boutique one is going to cost a lot anyways. I have no qualms about it now and I’m glad I finally landed one. Now I’m saving up for a Double Rock!
January 16, 2013 at 2:49 pm #138962Thanks for the tip! Not that I have a problem with anyone getting one of these…..But it’s nice when dino fans get them…..Again not that I have anything against collectors, Just we should get first go : ) ha ha
January 23, 2013 at 2:48 pm #138963So while I’m waiting for that Fuzz Munchkin to get in I ordered a Double Rock. I found out that the Purple Sparkle is limited to the forst 200. They can be found, but as of yesterday there’s one less.
Though it is expensive I am very pleased. It’s 6 pedals in one, 2 Box of Rocks, 2 Super Hard Ons (Boost) 2 Distortrons and I am very impressed by the great tone that can be achieved by it. For the first time I felt like a real guitarist. It is so lush and creamy. Cranking it up really makes this baby wail! Total J Mascis. And when you combine it with boost, this things sqeals like any Dino song I’ve ever heard.
I played it through my modded J Mascis Fender Jazzmaster. The pick ups are my Curtis Novak and the Volume and Tone from RS Guitarworks.
I’m inspired to play more and sound better, which this thing does. I think I’m going to cal mine Falkor because this thing just brought me 9891 miles closer to the goal : )
January 24, 2013 at 2:32 pm #138964I don’t want to buy a Fuzz Munchkin, but I’d still love to see the schematics to see what the (likely very subtle) difference is between it and a vanilla Big Muff. I doubt the guy who makes the FM’s will divulge that (trade secrets and all), so I’ll just have to keep an eye out to see if anyone reverse engineers it. 😉 I’m not trying to steal Tym’s business by any means, but my curiosity regarding the guts of the FM is killing me.
January 24, 2013 at 3:58 pm #138965I’m about to pull the trigger on a double rock….
I’d love to have a Fuzz Munchkin, but it’s almost impossible to find one, I tried on Tym’s webshop … but I didn’t like the experience, I felt like one of those apple fanboy …
They are both VERY expensive, but I see it more as a collectible … rather than a regular boutique pedalJanuary 30, 2013 at 1:01 pm #138966The Fuzz Munchkin just arrived in the mail. I got No. 167, no autograph (That’s OK, I have plenty) I’ve had bad luck posting pictures and I’m at work. I’ll hook it up tonight, give her a whirl and let you know what I think.

January 31, 2013 at 1:25 pm #138967The Fuzz Munchkin is awesome! It’s a monster, sounds just like J! It makes the Blue box sound phenomenal to. Love it!

February 1, 2013 at 8:43 am #138969NICE! Congrats and thanks for sharing the pics. I need to up my game on my gear…
February 1, 2013 at 11:04 am #138970Obsequio–sweet pedals you got there!
If you’re having an amp custom built you might want to check out West Coast Pedal Board:
http://www.westcoastpedalboard.com
They can match the tolex, tweed, etc. of whatever amp you’ve got. They’re very well built, look awesome, and Spencer the owner is a nice guy.
