At first they mention that dinosaur jr layed the stone foundation for grunge long before Nirvana came up (who, nevertheless, have been much more successful than dinosaur jr).
Then J. Mascis talks about Kurt Cobain’s voice. It would be "nothing special", he just had the same voice as everyone else in the radio, but his voice would be something uncommon, that’s why the radiostations won’t play their songs.
After this they show extracts of a show dinosaur jr has given in Paris a few weeks ago(Interview was in March).
Then they sum up the band foundation (1983). In the following interview part they explain how it came that Murph joined the band (he borrowed cds of J. Mascis; afterwards, retrospective, J wonders how he could afford it to spend so much money for music and can only guess that he took his mother’s money to buy himself cds)
Yeah, after that, it is mentioned that they published their first record in 1985 and two years later their first video clip.
Then Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) is presented as a fan "right from the start". He says that he like J’s voice ("interesting") and they way he playes the guitar ("dirty").
Well, then they refer to the DVD (Year Punk broke) about dinosaur jr, Sonic Youth and Nirvana.
In the next interview section they recall 1991, where dinosaur jr had their first tour with Sonic Youth. They’ve been touring in a state of America where you can buy fireworks all year long. While they were driving on an empty street, they wanted to hit the tourbus of Sonic Youth with their fireworks, to do this,
they drove parallel to the bus of SY. Unfortunately they didn’t see the truck, who came quicker and quicker towards them. Finally they could turn the steering-wheel fast enough around, but they all thought they "would die now".
In 1991 Lou Barlow quit the band ( around the same time of the breakthrough of Nirvana), because he had an argument
with J. In the following interview part they talk about other arguments they’ve had and that it’s actually nothing special.
Afterwards they shortly mention that Spike Jonze directed a video for them, as well as the foundation of J Mascis and the fog. Besides, of course, about the reunion in 2005. In the end dinosaur jr simply express how lucky they all are to be together as a band again and that this was all they long for the hole time the were separated.August 13, 2007 at 3:32 pm #131296Merci.
