Easy, Lou could hang out on stage with some tape loops, that would free J up to go to the bathroom or perhaps he might like to take another trip to Burger King.
5 and 1/2 minutes baby.
btw oldest daughter told me recently that the guitar sounds "Stupid" on Kracked
, she said it sounds like some angry dumb ass Donald Duck sound, I had never heard it that way, well, as they say, out of the mouths of Babes.June 23, 2005 at 6:12 pm #110406"Javro" wrote:although it’s billed as YLAOM, how long does that play for – 35/40 minutes tops? they must come back on and play additional materiel, unless of course J’s solos extend each track to double the length of the album tracks. which is very likely.it’s not like the between song banter will make the show any longer.
No doubt J can do more jammage versions of all the songs on YLAOM, stretching the set out over an hour shouldn’t be a problem. Very cool idea, should be a thrill!
Hope someone tapes & shares the show…
Can’t imagine how pleasing the Stooges show will be, the whole Funhouse album…
_________________June 24, 2005 at 1:09 am #110407I’m already going to the Mudhoney (Superfuzz Bigmuff) and Lemonheads (It’s A Shame About Ray) ones. Tempted by the Stooges one too, but already seen then once this year (in Barcelona!) and they played most of Funhouse then.
And now extremely tempted by the Dinosaur Jr one – trying to talk myself out of it ‘cos they played most of YLAOM at the forum and am very broke at the moment but I don’t think I’m gonna be able to resist …

Just got a ticket for YLAOM. Very tempted by Mudhoney, lemonheads and The Stooges as well but cash may prevent me going to those.
June 24, 2005 at 11:44 am #110409hopefully someone will tape them. I would love to hear the Lemonheads, Melvins, mudhoney and Dino

whatever they decide to do, i’m sure they won’t disappoint … i saw the mudhoney show announced quite a while back (http://forum.freakscene.net/viewtopic.php?t=6689), but i didn’t realize it was connected to atp until i saw this week’s time out which carries a large ad with some of the other bands/shows as well (stooges, lemonheads) and i was tempted to buy tix for one at least of the shows + i was thinking, man, that’s a shame dinosaur jr aren’t going to get in on this and then … to my amazement they now are!!!!
… this will be a great end to the summer … plus, they should be on tv from the reading/leeds festival right before this show as well …
also, very happy to see the melvins have been added too … i wish i had some more moolah, b/c i think i’d go to most of these shows
June 25, 2005 at 7:04 am #110411i’m glad to see dinosaur jr coming back to north london …

June 25, 2005 at 11:15 am #110413Quote:not really, as this is all they are promoting it as.Indeed they are, but seeing as they already played nearly every song off that album at the last London show and the tickets are the same price as the Forum shows, there will be a lot of unhappy people if the band walk off after 40 minutes! I also wonder about the Lemonheads gig where they’re playing Shame About Ray – a shade over half an hour!!! [/quote]
June 26, 2005 at 3:15 am #110414i saw brian wilson perfrom ‘pet sounds’ in its entirety a few years back + he divided his show into 3 sets … 1. random songs, 2. pet sounds and 3. the hits!!! … so just b/c a show is billed as a band performing a certain album in its entirety, doesn’t necessarily mean that’s all they’ll do
June 26, 2005 at 6:35 am #110415yeah i think theyre definetley gonna be play more than just the album, i mean how long can you drag the raisans solo? (pretty fucking long but not THAT long haha)
June 26, 2005 at 11:45 am #110416well i’m going just expecting the album, if they play more, that will indeed make me happy!!!!!
June 26, 2005 at 11:50 pm #110417the word on the street (which one I don’t know), is that for all these ‘don’t look back’ events the band will take the stage to play the subject album in its entirety, then return to play a set of other material like that of a normal gig. simple.
