okies, sorta the same deal as w/ Sonic Youth then, only in their case they had a whole truck of gear stolen.

LOL, you got a problem w/ my new nick or something? To be perfectly honest, the initial amusement has started to fade a bit for me too, but I keep telling myself it’s a winner. In any case there’s no way in hell I’m gonna change it back b4 Hey, you smell … does. I’m in nooooo hurry …

Hey Allison, great find…

Gotta love both J’s and Watt’s interview styles… Total opposites from eachother…

Still, gotta love the way Watt talks. Even find myself speakin’ some Pedro sometimes.

So, maybe it’s just me, but it sure looks like J was single-handedly pulling a lot of the old punk rockers outta retirement. Especially with Ian McKaye wanting in on it too (ok, so maybe he was on tour and not technically retired, but you get what I mean…)

Cool find. I dunno though, can’t honestly say I’m hearing More Light when thinking Tom Petty OD’d on mushrooms

Anyone knows what this "Frank Black getting ripped off in Philly" is about? Never heard about that b4.

I think they were talking about the fact that a lot of Frank Black’s gear and other stuff was stolen when somebody stole the tour-van (or that all the stuff was taken from that van, don’t remember it exactly)

Hey,

Definitely with you on the opposite style of interviews with J and Watt Mattman, gotta love that. J definitely pulled Asheton out of retirement…thankfully!!!

Maximum…something or other …I didn’t even catch that Tom Petty on mushrooms thing on the 2nd read Odd reference thats for sure, my only excuse for not seeing that is it was 0615 when I found it…kinda cross eyed at that point.

Allison

Flying Cloud thanks for finding that link about Frank Blacks gear getting stolen…they even got his golf clubs…swine

A local band here had their gear stolen a few years ago, made people shut about where their practice space was at.
The Tom Petty comparison I came up with years ago,so I guess I`m not the only one who sees that except I said Petty with a sore throat not anything about mushrooms(Mattman thought it was funny in the introductions section for my introduction thread).

Hey SG,

I thought I had heard something about Tom Petty on this site b4 just couldn’t remember where. I think its a pretty funny reference in that context, the guitar playing though…definitely not. Still pissed that TP (hmmm cornholio comes to mind ) taking the heartbreakers deal…Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers are the real deal in my opinion.
