And this is the post where I put, not only my foot with sneakers on, but also my right leg with mud creased jeans in my mouth.
It’s time to confess, I’ve only listened to two -2- new albums this year. And we’re now seeng mid september on the calendar.
I’ve been too occupied rediscovering my music collection to take any notice to new, hip and cool music. Which has left me brutaly and utterly out of the loop in the whole "best albums of…" spectacle. However, I have two -2- opinions to force on you:

        1) Party Animals – TRBNGR is…I’d like to say pretty close to boring, but I’ll settle for uninspired instead. Huge disappointment to say the least. I hoped that the album would be all the things that scandinavian leather failed to be, but instead it proved to be only mildly and sporadically amusing.

        2) Silver Jews – Tanglewood Numbers is a record I adore. With sugar on top. It’s fairly fresh in my ears, so I won’t try to put down any meaningful worlds about it, but it’s highly recommended. Also, friends of the corderoy suit should use the mouse button on the link below to read a good interview with David Berman.

I`ve been wondering about the new Silver Jews album :)

I had a dream the other night all us freakscene regulars were in Norway at Robert`s throwing snowballs in the dark :D

What I like the most about the album is that it’s nothing like I expected. The music has evolved a lot since the last albums, different arrangements etc.

;D we could be running down the street, throwing snowballs at the embassies. And everyone would have the same music playing through headphones. We’d pretend we were in a movie. Or a dream. I’d like that.
I’ll notify you when the snow has arrived SG.

                    JESU — s/t

It’s Justin Broadrick’s (Godflesh, Final, Techno Animal, etc., etc.) new band. Super slow-motion sludgey shoegazer rock that’s as thick as molasses, yet totally ambient at the same time. Think Loveless-era MBV played by the heaviest band you’ve ever heard. It’s really, really beautiful, and sounds like nothing else out there. The guy’s a genius.

…definitely one I’m adding to my list! just discovered them, and loved them right away. people who like bands like Neutral Milk Hotel would like the Decemberists, too. that kind of intensity that grows with listening…

I took your advice and listened to this album. being I love Nuetral Milk Hotel, and may I say you’re right I knew from the very first sounds of the first song that it was going to be awesome, and may I say thank you, anything else you would recommend for me?

They might not sound exactly like The Decemberists or NMH but give the Mountain Goats a try. It`s basically one guy John Darnielle from California who used to record songs into his boombox at home, nowadays he uses the studio.Good songwriter and a voice like `60s folkie Phil Ochs:

I’m a bit late to the party, but my choices are:

Eiafuawn – Birds In The Ground
The Life And Times – Suburban Hymns
Black Helicopter – That Specific Function

                          Delicious.

I agree on Spinvis’ Dagen van Gras, dagen van sto. It took me a couple of days to get this new piece of art under my belt but it is a masterpiece.
