1 or 2 years ago there were plans to release a best of Dinosaur Jr with singles, bsides and live songs,
I never heard of that againWill that be released soon or will it never see the daylight

Of what I really feel I needed to saySpaceboy – I was speaking to a guy at Warner Bros about this a few years ago because J’s manager at the time had raised the issue of a Dino Best of in an interview following the band’s split.
Warners were keen but I think the main problem would be sorting out which label it would come out on – early stuff was on SST and other labels, later stuff on Warners. It would most likely be a Warners release but they would have to pay SST and Homestead to license the tracks and they would probably want a lot of money.
I imagine something will come out at some point but with Fossils and Quest already in existence it may be a while.
I would quite like to hear an official live album – perhaps of Dinosaur/J + The Fog through the ages.
