I’ve always thought that Sonic Youth is one of the best bands ever.
At first I acquired DIRTY and I really love it, then I bought SISTER and so on…
My favs are:
-SISTER
-DAYDREAM NATION
-GOO
-WASHING MACHINE
-EVOL
-A THOUSAND LEAVES
"At the end, I went to jail & got executed just because I didn’t cried at my mother’s funeral."

1) Sonic Youth: Schizophrenia
2) Pixies: Where is my mind?
3) th´ faith healers: Heart Fog
4) Creep: What´s wrong with myself?
5) Nomeansno: Manic DepressionOut of competition: Britney Spears: Born to make you happy. Well of course you´re tempted to list Crazy but as far as mental disorder is concerned Born to make you happy beats the lot.

mueran!!!!!!!!!!!February 21, 2001 at 9:23 am #66774I wonder if you´ve noticed this, but on every message board there is a guy like antipop, i.e, someone who so desperatly tries to be funny or controversial and always fails miserably. Or is that always the same guy. Antipop, please shed some light here.

Daydream Nation
Confusion Is Sex
Washing Machine
Experimental Jet Set Trash And No Starany of you heard the songs Thurston Moore recorded with Stephen Malkmus?
"Don’t let it bring you down, it’s only castles burning. Just find someone who’s turning. And you will come around."
-Neil YoungFebruary 21, 2001 at 4:06 pm #66776Hey,
My top 3
Daydream Nation
Dirty
GooHad to stop listening to my fav song off of Dirty…Purr…when driving on the highway noticed a scary pattern of going way too fast when that song came on. Going well over 100 hit some black ice, spun for what seemed like forever, ended up in the ditch in the middle of no where surrounded by snow….Purr was still playing though. Thank god I was the only idiot on the road at 0530, so beware.
Anyone pick up the Dimstars with Thurston Moore, Steve Shelley, Don Fleming and Richard Hell. Not bad, just too bad Richard Hell sings most of the songs. Stand out tune for me on that one is The night is coming on…love Thurstons voice nevermind the guitar….perfect.

mueran!!!!!!!!!!!February 22, 2001 at 7:43 pm #66780Am I the only one who liked the last Sonic Youth album??
I don’t think it was that bad, and I specially liked NEVERMIND, RENEGADE PRINCESS and NYC GHOSTS AND FLOWERS.Maybe it wasn’t as good as A THOUSAND LEAVES, but you got to admit that it’s the perfect soundtrack for the worst and darkest nightmare.
