Is this recording available in MP3 format anywhere. I can’t play FLAC files at work.
May 26, 2006 at 6:13 pm #117730Thanks Mike!
Sounds great, listening to The Lung really really loud
May 26, 2006 at 7:12 pm #117731Hi again,
Thanks for all the positive comments about my recording, I’ve snaffled so much from Anthony’s fine collection, it’s great to be able to give a little back

tonas-> I haven’t made the recording available in mp3 but I’ve got no problems if anyone wants to convert it, alternatively if you have a suitably large recepticle and let me know what bitrate you’re after I’ll happily mail/ftp/whatever you an mp3 version, or (if Anthony’s cool with it) I can send him an mp3 version for freesofree…
Scott-> Just to let you know that I did a test burn a few minutes ago and it worked OK for me. I used Winamp’s disk-writer plugin to convert the flacs to wavs and burned them to CD using Nero 6.
Another girl…-> The lung is very cool in this recording (and it’s my favourite song *period* in the frequenze DVD) however the two that I can’t stop listening to on my recording are Bulbs (I just love it when the guitar wall kicks in) and Tarpit (I know I’m biased but I really think that this is just about the best live recording of tarpit that I’ve ever heard)
Cheers
Mike

It is very easy and very cowardly to post comments in this anecdotal fashion about how other people felt, or to insinuate that they "weren’t into it". You don’t know me, just as I don’t know you. You have no idea how I was feeling during the show, or whether I was bored, and furthermore, I very much doubt whether Dinosaur Jr. have appointed you a position whereby you are required to ensure that everyone who has paid for a ticket must watch attentively and rapt with pleasure at all times, therefore save yourself the heartache and concentrate on your own experience. For your information, I really enjoyed the show. This doesn’t mean that my face was a picture of ecstasy at all points throughout Dinosaur Jr. being on stage, or that I threw my body about in wild abandon at all times, but, nonetheless, I was certainly "into it". You are correct when you assert that I was leaning on the barrier, the reasons for this being manifold and not exactly criminal i.e. to take some of the weight off of my legs, to steady myself when taking pictures or filming, and also because I didn’t really have anywhere else to go once the momentum of the crowd surged forward and pinned me in place. Even if I had wanted to dance around (which I didn’t particularly feel like doing that night) I couldn’t have; I didn’t have the room. I hope I have explained my behaviour away suitably.
Well no that wasn’t me as I didnt step away from the barrier but you going to the length to write a post directed at someones opinion shows that maybe you were looking bored and I don’t think that I need to be appointed by Dinosaur Jr to make an opinion on someone. If anyone at the show thought that I was a complete jerk off i’m sorry I gave off that vibe. I have actually seen the guy I was standing next to during the show, he was in town a few days after and said he rememberd me, the reason he looked bored was because he was there to see Dead Meadow and didn’t know much Dino. Don’t know who you was standing next to but bummer for them if they had the same trouble as we did with that girl, perhaps I was standing close to you then.
You make opinions on people every single day I don’t see why you arent aloud to do it during a show. I’m glad that you enjoyed the show anyway but if you had a good time then I don’t see why you felt the need to explain your actions.May 27, 2006 at 5:29 pm #117734Oh and Mike, that recording is excellent! How did you manage to get it such good quality? It’s so good, I really like the Lung and Forget the Swan, Also the Dead Meadow recording is great aswell!
May 28, 2006 at 3:30 am #117735I was at the gig with my girlfriend and we were standing behind that nutty bitch when Dead Meadow were on.I suggested we move towards the back by the bar so i could easily access the beer and my girlfriend be not pushed around when Dino were on.I went into the "Pit" or whatever and jumped UP and not at people and had a great time. Why do people want to bash around into others. To me its juvenile and if everyone jumped UP and not across with heads and limbs flying, everyone i sure would have a better time.Anyway i loved the gig, my first for years and i wil buying some Dead Meadow albums as i thought they were cool.Like early BMRC and early Verve.

.Couldn’t agree with you more, thats exactly how I feel about the crowd. You wanna watch the band, not get rammed into over and over

At the end of the day though Dinosaur Jr Rocked!May 29, 2006 at 2:21 pm #117737"BeenInsane " wrote:Well no that wasn’t me as I didnt step away from the barrier but you going to the length to write a post directed at someones opinion shows that maybe you were looking bored and I don’t think that I need to be appointed by Dinosaur Jr to make an opinion on someone. You make opinions on people every single day I don’t see why you arent aloud to do it during a show. I’m glad that you enjoyed the show anyway but if you had a good time then I don’t see why you felt the need to explain your actions.Apologies; in retrospect my comments appear heavy-handed and reactionary. I think I went a bit over the top and just vented my spleen when I saw your post. It is probably because I am ill at ease with the way people sometimes express themselves on internet forums. The generally anonymous nature of posting (in most cases people don’t see other posters in "real life") often makes people say things they wouldn’t otherwise say, and I just feel that the anonymity and low likelihood of encountering somebody again after a gig can prompt people to write things they wouldn’t normally write. I suppose what I am saying is that I don’t agree with slagging a "guy" off when you also include enough information about the situation to mean that somebody else could recognise that it is them you are speaking of. It often leads to ill-will and there is, in my opinion, really no need to comment on anybody else’s disposition at a gig as long as they don’t go attacking other people. I acknowledge that I could (and possibly should) have just let your comment go unanswered, and the fact that I just assumed it was me you were referring to without asking you more about it first was, as you suggest, perhaps indicative of the fact that I may have "looked" bored . Again, I apologise for my previous post, and wish you all the best in your life.

I probably wouldn’t even mentioned it if I hadn’t been punched by this complete psycho earlier during the show though, I guess that just had me more aware of the crowd from that point on, I mean she started during bulbs of passion so you know there was a whole lot of show left!
Anyway i’m glad you had a good time, it was an amazing show!
All the best.June 10, 2006 at 7:11 am #117740i was at that one. i found the stench of the people over powered the power of the music. i’m not from birmingham but the experience made me think what’s going on there?
i didn’t feel safe outside the place. but i was really ill cos the car park was full across from the venue and i had a job trying to park.
but someone needs to do something with the city and start some kind of personal hygiene promotion.
as for the girl hitting people .. i didn’t see her but i picked up the vibes…
