Max
No not brothers – Matthew Williams, and Jon Clark. Jon was the guy that got me into mascis when we were about 14.
I actually met up with him after not seeing him for about ten years at the Fog concert at the Empire this year which was spooky too.
How come you thought they were brothers? I’ll have to tell Jon he’s famous in Sweden!! He works for the FT now (financial times).

"Don’t come any closer
don’t touch
I’m not my best when I’m sober
but now I’m drunk"September 27, 2001 at 10:57 am #67630John Dyson-was Urusei Yatsura the band that had a song about Calvin Johnson about 5 years ago?I heard that on the radio, yeah if it`s the same band they were cool.
Allison- I kinda thought it was Alternative TV(always get them mixed up with Psychic TV)There`s a new band I forget the name that that ATV guy sings or plays in,Gina from the Raincoats sings on the song I heard.
I gotta get that Rhino comp. anthology on British punk,that has that Adverts song-"Gary Gilmore`s Eyes".September 27, 2001 at 12:10 pm #67631
quote:
Originally posted by Javro:

Simply cuz on the site I linked to above it says about the Blizzard 7": ‘Första skivsläppet pÃ¥ bröderna Matt och Johns Sticky Records, baserat i Leigh-On-Sea i England.’, which translates into ‘First release on the brothers Matt and John’s Sticky Records, based in Leigh-On-Sea, England’. Guess they got the spelling of Jon’s name wrong too, but you don’t have to tell him that … September 27, 2001 at 12:33 pm #67632I went to school near Leigh-On-Sea, made famous by Carter USM’s Sheriff Fatman (…than Claus Barbie, the master butcher of Leigh-on-Sea)…
Nice to meet another quarter fan – thanks for the link as I hadn’t heard anything from them since. Worth trying to track down other sticy releases, especially the compilation album "I’ll procrastinate tomorrow". There’s a song from that that the below lyrics (my sig) come from.
September 27, 2001 at 1:01 pm #67633Bless you Javro for reminding me of Carter the Unstopable Sex Machine!
Heaven forbit if they slipped into oblivion .. Btw, I was starting to wonder about that sig of yours … every time I’ve read that ‘Give me something, Give me something’ the Beastie Boys started going ‘So watcha watcha watcha want?!’ in my head.

do you also remember neds atomic dustbin??
they played a re-union gig last week in london – didn’t go – feel a little old for that kinda thing.
"she said, she said you don’t know shit because you’ve never been there, turned around and threw him down the stairs – KILL, YOUR, TELEVISION".
oh, how we danced.
September 27, 2001 at 1:18 pm #67635I do remember them, but only vaguely what they sounded like.
September 27, 2001 at 1:48 pm #67636I’d like to add Mazzy Star, The Cure, Snowpony, Guided By Voices…
September 27, 2001 at 1:58 pm #67637THE BEATLES
The hippest band ever im amazed that not one person mentioned them
September 27, 2001 at 3:20 pm #67638Well it’s nothing less than outrageous beyond belief that no one has yet mentioned Monty Python. How could you all overlook a timeless master-stroke like Sit On My Face ?

Well, it’s just no fun stating the obvious. But while we’re at it, here:Rolling Stones
Kinks
The WhoNot that all of their stuff are even close to being great ..
September 28, 2001 at 2:34 am #67640what about the colourblind james experience.
were they British. They were definitely odd – "Mary said son, we have no wine".
I liked Kingmaker when I was a nipper, and of course the wedding present, depeche mode, sigue sigue sputnik and I’m sure I’ll think of others.
September 28, 2001 at 2:46 am #67641Bartman-Mazzy Star are`nt British, they`re American;they`ll pop up on my American list though.
Guided By Voices are`nt British either, they just think they are.(they`ll be on my American list too).Trivia:2 guys from what band met each other at a Ned`s Atomic Dustbin show?
