Anyone know if J is Jewish? Or of Jewish descent?

Now, we all know that "Jewish" is not an ethnicity, but perhaps he is of Russian or Polish background, or some other nationality that is predominantly Jewish?

Just curious. He looks very Jewish, and I can’t tell by the last name. But then, I am frequently mistaken for a Jew, and I’m not…that I know of.

      Anyone got any insight?

        Re-read my post.

I ‘m not categorizing anyone. I also clearly emphasized the difference between religion & ethnicity, especially because those two are often (erroneously) used interchangably.

J could feasibly be Russian or Polish, which would increase his odds of having been raised Jewish, which would be (to me) an interesting contrast to his interest in Eastern religion & philosophy.

        Now, back to the question…

It was never certain but we did have a thread that traced the origin of J’s last name and I do think someone found a derivative going back several centuries to Italy. Don’t need to search for it, just trust the process

          Credibly yours,
