Left later than planned get pulled over going 90 in 65 trying to make it for lous set. Cop gave my friend/driver a breathalizer.. dickhead.. result of long half hour pull ove happenings: we miss lous set. and we are very sad.
but we get there, and within minutes there we have dinosaur.
highlights of the show for me included: pick me up and crumble. ive been wanting to hear crumble so bad and i knew if i didnt go tonight id miss it. #11 aka what if i knew, played at my request, thanks lou and murph. mountain man closer.. my favorite. lou being awesome, and me having the best birthday show ever. best dinosaur show. croud was pretty dead till the last few songs where a little dance party went down mid crowd. no moshing.. its vermont.. great show.@!

First show I have seen at a venue other than Pearl Street or the Middle East, pretty decent setup; but a f’ed up drive. Lou’s acoustic set was awesome, played more than one song I would have requested. Got to meet the band, was amazed at how relaxed they seemed prior to playing the ass kicking set they ended up coming out and playing. Crumble was a great surprise, last thing I expected – and Pick Me Up was about 2x as gnarly, live, as I expected it would be. Out There is still getting tighter, big improvement from Pearl Street in the fall. Swan was so clean it soulded safe to not forget that damn bird, but clean enough to make sure I do forget it. Crowd was a bit more laid back than the Middle East and Pearl Street gang; Burlington. I can hear today so it could have been a bit louder, but per other posts apparently that’s a good thing? Hope to catch them in Northampton (if they do a show there) when they get back from Europe.June 11, 2007 at 12:30 pm #129907That was a pretty great show. I definitely don’t think it could have been louder, but then again I was standing right in front of Lou (next to Kracked) and he had turned one of his monitors towards the crowd and pretty much directly towards my left ear, so I can’t really judge… No earplugs either, but that’s how it goes. Really tight set and the band really did seem to be having a lot of fun and much more interactive with the crowd. The encore’s were really tight and it was one of the better shows. Much better sound at Higher Ground than a place like Pearl St. (I almost always hate going to a show at PS, the sound there is never anything better than terrible no matter what…)
June 11, 2007 at 2:54 pm #129908Just got back from Burlington. The show was fantastic. Had a great time. There will be an audio recording of Dinosaur Jr up soon enough… as for Lou… unfortunately a lot of us got into the show slightly late and so Lou’s set had already started up. I’m not sure how much of it I missed. I was able to video and audio what I was able to see of Lous. There will be no video of Dino however.
BTW just got a text from Anthony… hes still on the train back home, he said hed split the
(dino) recording up on the train, and upload it when hes finished. If the Lou stuff is something thats good enough to go up, it’ll happen sometime after today. Its NOt a complete recording.June 12, 2007 at 6:25 am #129909No matter how much of Lou’s set you captured/what it sounds like, I hope you guys post it. The second to last song we talked him into playing is something he’s currently working on and "may never release" and the dialogue around it is priceless. I asked him what it was going to be called and it he joked "Piece of S #3".
Awesome night.

Yes, I did capture that last song/bit. Due to having no tripod/place to position the camera (last min. addition camera)… it got a little shaky. It’s viewable though. It’s in 8mm, I’ll work on the transfer as time permits.
June 12, 2007 at 2:54 pm #129911That show was awesome, I’m really glad I made it. Everyone was just really, really cool.
Here’s a flyer I picked up at the show, and an all-access Dino pass for Higher Ground.

June 18, 2007 at 10:28 pm #129914Late in posting, but have to say one whale of a show in Burlington. Any man who stands in front of his stack the whole show deserves a Congressional Medal of Honor.
Murph & Lou, never a better rhythm section, period.
An outstanding show all the way around, come back to Burlington soon !!
Hey, and thanks for having the the testicular fortitude to actually ask the crowd at the end what they wanted to hear. You guys are a class act !
