My computer had a major crash that made it so it wouldn’t start up in safe mode or anything. I was able to install XP on it again (w/o formatting) and when i go to my old Documents and Settings folder, it says i dont have access to it. Probably some XP security bullshit.

ive also already tried using the drive as a slave and still couldn’t get the files off of it.

Anyone know a way around it?? Mattman?? Anyone??

      thanks

Log on as Administrator, go to My Computer, right-click and properties on the directory you cannot access. Security Tab, Advanced (at the bottom) and change ownership to you.

To get to "DOS" on XP, Start > Run, type in CMD and hit enter.
