I showed up in time to see Broken Social Scene Play. I was looking forward to the them and they were great, for the first time ever seeing them. Apparently, one of their members was in jail. He tried to score a stash in washington square and got beat up by four cops. So BSS was admitidly a little out of it.

I was worried at first that the show wouldn’t be loud enough, since BBS had mention in their show that they had to keep it at 95 decibels for the appartments across the way. I think they might have started the show that way, but it got louder pretty much each song.

      And the set list.

      Gargoyle
      In a Jar
      No Bones
      Mountain Man
      Little Fury Things
      Budge
      Kracked
      Raisans
      Tarpint
      Bulbs of Passion
      Repulsion
      Forget the Swan
      Sludgefest

      Just Like Heanen
      Freak Scene

      The Lung
      Chunks

      Friggen rocked.

i heard someone in broken social scene say something like "what kinda idiot gets busted trying to buy weed in washington square". i wasnt sure what he meant.

I’m a big BSS fan too. That would have been a great pair of acts to see in one night. That’s too bad about the arrest.

Dee Dee Ramone once got busted for trying to score pot in Washington Square, too. I guess that means he was a sucker.

But in the end (pun intended?) he proved he was no sissy.
