Chat window…..

Uh, what do I do when this window pops up and says someone has invited me into a chat? Salimiguy just sent me one, so sorry dude, nothing personal, I hit OK but nothing happened. Just didnt know what to do. Sorry. [img]images/smiles/converted/confused.gif[/img]

What kind of program do I need to download in order to chat?? I get nothing but an "empty box", obviously not the chat room.

Here’s the info I see when I open the chat option:

Channel: FreakScene

Server name: irc.webchat.org

Port: 6667 (as usual [img]images/smiles/converted/wink.gif[/img] )

I get the same config but it has only ever worked for me once.

When I hit "connect", it goes through irc, java, apple, and something else (once each), and each time it says "unable to connect with server", then "connection close". And occasionally it will say "you are banned from this network. abuse"

grrrr….any suggestions? It was a fluke that it worked for me on Saturday.

Getting invite to join chat, enter room no prob but empty room…than I leave and get another invite…go back to empty room. Not sure whats up with that but hey what can you do. Didn’t have the same problem as Rosa did above though, went thru the whole connect deal with no error just empty room when I got there a couple of times.

I get the same thing sometimes too… I believe that the chat invite is lasting longer that the patience of the person who sent it. In otherwords, they’re jumping into the chatroom, it’s empty, they send an invite, get impatient, leave, you show up… [img]images/smiles/converted/cool.gif[/img]

I also have another question for the lovely rosa, supporter of half-naked political assaults… On ice. [img]images/smiles/converted/tongue.gif[/img]

Tony is listed on being in the chat room but no one is there.
If no one is there then send out invites to who ever is around,that seems to work unless they don`t want to chat,which is ok,I`m not going to force anyone to go there.

Hey salamiguy, I think that your problem has a similar cause to Allison’s (it’s also happened to me.) From what I’ve gathered, the Freakscene ‘who’s online’ tracker can only grab someone’s location when they first click on a certain part of Freakscene. If that person leaves Freakscene by either going to another site or closing their browser, then the tracker can’t track it. If I remember correctly, the tracker holds onto the person’s last known location for up to half an hour… [img]images/smiles/converted/cool.gif[/img]
