was at this show also and thought it was great. I have only seen them a couple of times and have never been disappointed, except for the first time when i forgot ear plugs.

hmmmmm, seems like we have to live on neil young solos alone while seeing dino jr live?? i definitely felt like i was in the basement, watching some friends rock out, which has some charm, but i have seen the band in the past and the vocals came through much better. surprised this doesn’t bother the faithful a little more than it does.

agree with spartanland – there’s two obvious things i associate with dino jr: J’s guitar and voice. i’m all for a loud show, but to not hear J’s unique, piercing voice at all, was disappointing for me. i was up front, in the back, in the balcony – just hoping when the next song started that the sound guy did something so the vocals were audible. Seen J a handful of times while touring with the Fog and thought the show was much better.

loved the energy that awesome color brought, esp the drummer Allison – she rocked. just didn’t feel that same energy/connection during the dino jr set.

Something occured to me about the vocals today. If J. wears ear protection, it might buffer his ability to hear his own vocals properly to be able to sing on key.
