Heading up to Chicago from St. Louis, and am absolutely bursting with excitement to see my favorite band of all time (my last Dinosaur show was Chicago 10-31-1997 with Berz/Johnson). It is great to see all of the positive reviews from the tour so far.
One concern I do have is the festival itself. Noticed on Lollapalooza website that they are scheduled for 2:30-3:30 on Sunday. I hope they get a chance to do the 1.5 hour show they have done at other stops, and are not shoved off the stage early to make way for god knows who…
Most of the festivals tend to really chop off bands’ sets, regardless of how good they are. An hour is pretty good for this type of event. At the upcoming Warped Tour, all acts (huge or just starting out…) get a half hour…period.
I saw Weezer last weekend co-headlining a show with The Pixies, and both bands got their full 1’10" time slot…however, at a few festivals that Weezer has played, they’ve been given like 45 minutes.

word on the street/from the tour bus is that they’re going to play a 2nd show at the Metro on Sunday night.

Everyone (9 in all, I believe) is on the DinoCruiser 2005. I hear it totally kicks ass … satellite TV, multiple compartments/levels, microwave, un-stinky bathrooms. Pretty much brand-spanking new. The bus in Europe supposedly sucked ass.
Much to Kath’s chagrin, J’s wife isn’t traveling on this leg of the tour. She was bummed.
