Wow, kurticus is a babe. Abercrombie Soccer though…? Somehow I didn’t picture you the sporty type. Not that it’s a problem
Have fun tonight,

So, who kissed Claire Danes? Is Jared Leto on these boards somewhere? You think with the pull Jeremiah has, he’d be able to get J into playing in Chapel Hill or I mean, even Atlanta.
You know you want to see J acoustic… I mean, he never plays acoustic in the US. Head up I-75! You won’t regret it!

April 16, 2002 at 5:35 pm #62507J played solo in Athens in late 96. He played a bunch of brand new songs (that would turn up on Hand It Over). I have a tape of the show someplace….
So, Rosa steals boys off the boards and has her way with them? I am totally confused, but that’s probably good. Heh.
I gave up on videotaping after the last 20 minutes of the Built to Spill show I filmed a few years ago was just Doug’s sneakers. *Must hold arm… upright… losing feeling in elbow* I seriously don’t think I want to try to keep my eyes on a camcorder, dat machine and expensive set of mics either.
Look for .MP3/SHN’s of the Columbus show tomorrow evening on the FTP. Assuming everything goes smoovely.

April 16, 2002 at 6:51 pm #62508t-minus 3 hours 10 minutes and counting…t-minus 3 hours 9 minutes…
Man after spending 8 and a 1/2 hours on campus, it’s time for a break…J style
I’ll hold the cam if you want, but I’ll have to set it down now and then so I can get my own shots…on second thought, never mind…I’ll be too busy holding a Bass
FYI-the second Newport show was 5/13/1997

Athletic type…very much so
I was on 3 seperate soccer teams last quarter, and I’m on two this quarter. The inneffable kurticus has many, many interests and needs stimulation from a multitude of directions to keep himself well entertained…

T minus 3 hours even to the freaking minute. I haven’t been to a national show at Little Brothers in a while.. I’m hoping they decide to start the show (ie, Cobra Verde) BEFORE 11pm. They used to start shows with 3 bands at 10pm, 2 bands at 11pm. Sucked all kinds of rear end.I have nothing to complain about since, J *is* playing in the state/part of the country where I live
Sorry southerners, I couldn’t resist.

ps Kurticus…that hat was why I mentioned The Hellacopters patch
April 16, 2002 at 8:12 pm #62512sorry-u can’t touch this hat. Notice how it’s nicely worn and appears to be incredibly comfortable (which it is). Also please notice the gently sloping forehead on it (very skateresque).
It’s hard to find a good hat these days. Mostly, they seem to have the "high rise" forehead which makes them look like "trucker" hats…lame…
The only problem w/ this one (besides the fact that it’s completely worn out and makes me look like W.T.) is that it sports my company logo everywhere I go. Pretty lame (kurticus tries not to sport company propaganda whenever possible. YES, I know how ironic that sounds wearing the company hat and the abercrombie shirt)…but it’s such an awesome hat!!! But hey, if the shoe fits, where it.If you wanna send a patch this way, I’ll make the extra effort to find an equally cool hat, and I’ll graft that baby on there!
Oh yeah, Dublin, Ohio (home of Wendy’s)
I’ve seen those commercials-HA HA HA HA HA!!! T-minus 1 hour 45 minutes and counting…
Guess it’s time to start the drinking…

April 17, 2002 at 3:05 am #62514Just got home from the Columbus show. Met up with Kurtis and felt his pain he was having with his digital camera being a bastard. Not sure if he got any decent pictures or not. Let him sober up first
Anyways, J played for about 70 minutes. I’m dumping the DAT to WAV -> MP3 right now, so hopefully it’ll be up in the morning. J played the one new song that I cant remember what Jeremiah told me the name of it was. Here’s approximately what he played (in no real order):
Repulsion
Severed Lips
Quest
Little Fury Things
Throw Down
Not You Again
The Wagon
Blowing It
Flying Cloud
Thumb
What Else Is New
Get Me
Keeblin
Alone (aborted)
Same Day
Amma ring
(new one) ‘better days’
On The Run (Wipers)‘Alone’ started off pretty promising, but J just sorta quit after the first couple lines. It looks like he was having problems remembering how the guitar part went. He also forget the second line of ‘Quest’ and kept playing the intro until he remembered.
That’s about all I can think of. Pretty cool show. Would have liked to hear some different songs (like Tarpit, Gotta Know, NOT THUMB, Water) but it was just cool to see J solo finally.
Even though everyone was yelling and screaming for a 2nd encore, J just grabbed his guitar pedals off the stage and said ‘Thanks, See you next time’. Kind of a bummer, but I dont blame him.
-Jamie, sober but drinking soapy milk
April 17, 2002 at 4:17 pm #62515all right…well the cable is finally working so I’m busy as can be uplaoding images. I have 60 or so from last nights show plus another 18 from the Hellacopters show.
Presently the hellacopters stuff is up and I’m working on the Cobra Verde and J stuff.
I’m building multiple pages with about 10-12 per page for all of you who have phoneline modems (I know how slow DL’ing stuff can be using that route)
So just give me some time to create and upload.
Will post a review of the show later…after class and after I get this stuff done…
Some came out really good, some not so well as you will see. Last time J played he asked people to not use flashes…works well for him but plays havoc for the people trying to get good photos. You win some, you lose some I guess. I have access to some software that should be able to clean them up a bit. But I won’t be getting around to that until this weekend…we will see…
Anyways, enjoy…
Oh yeah, you probably want the address, huh?

April 17, 2002 at 6:39 pm #62519hello folks..a rare post for me. really enjoyed the gig last night in cowtown. the verde tore it up ( as ususal ) and j blasted through 75 minutes acoustically. cool watching him loop 4 bars of a song on a delay then solo over the top of it. k-razy!
it was also my 1st attempt w. my new DAT recording gear and it smokes indeed! i can echo jamie’s praise of the gig..great set and a little more relaxed that the ann arbor & cleveland ones i saw last time.
take carecr
