Red Kross’ tune Crazy World was used in a Mars bar advert in the UK with an old native indian chap going up to the mountains to die. He has a wee bit of a Mars and decides not to bother and gets up and walks away.

When I was in France there was another Mars advert which played ‘In The Pines’ by Leadbelly but when the same ad was played over here it had some instrumental tune.

But then again, as King Edward said: if the band doesn’t agree to do the commercial, the company can always make a new version, and the band doesn’t see any money.

My favorite commercial use: Sting’s desert rose in the Jaguar Commercial.

I heard that Sony Playstation is using Black Flag`s Rise Above in an ad.
Kinda strange since SST records has stickers that say F*ck Sony.

I know a guy who writes and records bumper music for a bunch of shows on MTV. He does independant movie scores and such. Its nuts he gets to do that for a living. I am definately jealous.
