Anyone know where to get one used on the cheap-ish side…or have schematics? Anyone have one and would like to review it? I know I can just listen to the Pumpkins and hear one, but that’s not going to sound like Billy or James whenever I play it. You know….

July 3, 2006 at 3:24 am #118835I don’t know of one right off hand. I know Gideon Kahn used to talk a lot about them (at least thats how I remember it). Maybe I can find a list of what was used on what online somewhere.
July 3, 2006 at 3:44 am #118836Ok, searching is through for now. I have found that apparently they used the pedal on their last album. I also found out that they are made really poorly apparently. Basically what everyone says is that the jacks are crap, the input jack drains the battery even if there’s no cable plugged in. The case is a hammond enclosure with a Radioshack type LED/led fixture. Basically it’s something we could build at home and have the same quality. The reviews on Harmony-Central go 50-50 on sound, you love it or hate it. Technically speaking, they say that it’s a modded Black Big Muff Pi. A few caps and Resistors have been changed to get a different gain tone. IF all of this is true, then I would preffer getting another BMP pedal and mod it. I like those pedals anyways. I seem to be attracted to the underdogs….Squiers, BMP RI’s, Dodge/Plymouth Neons etc.

July 3, 2006 at 12:16 pm #118837watch it with the neons eh?
THE Randy Jane pedal…..um, My main pedal right now is my Boss MD-2 but I also use my DOD Grunge a lot, but not as much. Randy Jane doesnt have a bassist right now, so I use the md-2 and I get a really bassy tone etc. etc. Plus I love having "too much gain." So, yeah the md-2, it’s my favorite distortion pedal.
I’m also really liking my Dod YJM308, I went and bought the stuff to make one, however it cost me more to buy the parts than the pedal.
Of course I’m putting in an LED, and a true bypass switch….which isn’t ALWAYS a good thing. You shouldn’t have every pedal in your line be true bypass.RJ.

I read somewhere that DOD made a Melvins pedal and that King Buzzo bought one so he could sound like himself, I saw one on ebay once and it got bidded up to about ?70 so they must not have made many
July 4, 2006 at 2:59 am #118839um…..sarcasm from you about the Neon is there? Or speak the truth do you? Talking am I like Yoda.

No dude, I love my Neon, I want another one badly. I can’t afford an SRT-4 though….speaking of cars, has anyone seen the new Camaro concepts? hmmm….looks an awful lot like the 2008 Dodge Challengers if you ask me.

R.J.July 4, 2006 at 9:21 am #118840R.J., have you checked out those Ibanez stop boxes? They have some pretty cool shit, the Fuzz box and the Lo-Fi box are both great.
July 5, 2006 at 11:33 pm #118841no, I haven’t…I normally try to stay away from Ibanez stuff….but since you say they’re cool, I’ll give’m a whirl.
