Did anyone see this game Sunday? I watched it, was planning on giving some certain individuals here a good ribbing, when these crazy mo-foes score, pull an onside kick, recover the skin, score, grab the extra point, and some how pulled it off in OT. Floored. Sunday my friends, marked the day of last minute-upset history! Yo, for you bear fans (i know you know who you are) mad props!

Hey Kurticus,

I thought maybe you could hear us screaming during that last 32 seconds & 2 mins of OT Wicked series of plays…TD->Onside kick recovered->Hail Mary in the end zone to tie it up->OT tip recovery and Brown runs it in to win the game…for the 2nd week in a row BEARS 6-1, best start since 1990, I lived thru all those painful years this feels really great!!!!! Absolutely amazing team, never give up this year, nice change in so many ways. Looking forward to giving the packers a big surprise this w/e

Cleveland played an ok game but all that trash talking they were doing on the field came back and bit them pretty badly. I actually felt bad for couch for a couple of seconds, he looked dazed and confused out there after that td in ot. Actually pretty glad we don’t face the Browns again this season, think you guys will do pretty good division wise. Seems you have a lot of really great young guys like the BEARS, Courtney Brown had a wicked game.

Go BEARS

Allison,
Thanks for the link. Went out to fill up on 7-11’s new Dark Mountain Roast Coffee (ZINGZING) and picked up a copy of the REAL Chicago Newspaper the Sun-Times.
The back page has a deliberately infuriating page-wide picture of some schmoe with a yellow ‘fro wig, GB sunglasses and yellow tigerstripe face paint.
How many people wanna kick some ass?? I do, I do !!

Also mentioned within is the book Mudbaths and Bloodbaths: The Inside Story of the Bears-Packers Rivalry by Gary D’Amato and Cliff Christl. I borrowed it from the library about 2 years ago or so. Have to say it might be one of the best sports books I ever read. Even if you are not a Bears or Packers fan, this book excels in giving even the most unfamiliar reader an idea of the ethics and history involving the game. Being the fact these two teams have faced each other since the dawn of the sport, many ties and references to the evolution of the game are interwoven within the details of the rivalry. A must-read.

Thanks for the tip on that book, will probably check that out…wicked rivalry but positive the BEARS will come our ahead!!!

Harmless fun for BEARS fans

Hx lesson on the rivalry between these teams…they really hate each other. Could be weird this year with a couple of ex BEARS on the packers

Good to find out we got Bears fans in here, the band i play with covers The Superbowl Shuffle, from the 85 Bears. Creepy D can be seen once a month @ Phyllis’ Musical Inn, on Division in Chi-Town (in case any y’all are ever in the Chi). You can find the lyrics to The Superbowl Shuffle at Creepy D

just click on tunes and then click on lyrics.

GO Bears

Hey Mat,

Always cool to meet another BEAR fan, especially one who appreciates J Mascis/Dino… Do you wear BEAR jerseys during the Superbowl Shuffle deal?

Hey Jaron I felt that kinda pain last year, we had a wickedly bad start, I blame that all on cade mcclown though. I haven’t checked out any of your games so not sure but seems like there needs to be some pretty big changes Maybe that lion pez of yours is bad luck

Jaron,

No jokes or punch lines await and I do not know the answer, who are the Lions going to play on Turkey Day this year?

Half-Man: Packers.

Allison, honestly, the bears were expected to be abd last year. This year, the Lions were coming off a 9-7 season and supposed to be better. We have alot of work to do to match last years record.

Hey Jaron,

I never expect the BEARS to be crappy, always a true blue delusional fan We went 1-7 last year until cade got hurt, then we at least won a few games. People were predicting the BEARS to be last place in the league this year and calling for the vikings to go to the superbowl b4 the season even started…YEAH RIGHT Lots in the NFL can’t get their heads around our record, dennis green of all people, saying the BEARS have something to prove We are 6-1, 5th in the power rankings and have some wicked young guys on both O and D that are just starting to show their talent.. The NFL is catching on, bumped up last weeks game so it could get national coverage, that game was shown on Middle Eastern TV so the troops could watch the greatness of the BEARS This week its being shown in London and Oz, I know theres a lot of BEAR fans out there

Hope the lions figure out the problem at some point, not sure you will come near matching your record from last year. You would have to win the rest of your games, seeing that you face us twice in the next little while that could be difficult. Like I said earlier maybe the lion pez is bad luck, seems my BEAR Pez was kinda helpful

Allison,
we don’t, but perhaps we should. When I was a kid and the Bears won the Super Bowl, I cut up blue and orange construction paper into confetti and spread it all around wrigleyville. Now that I recently moved back to the neighborhood after years on the east coast, i hope to spread the confetti again this year.

AGAP-truly dillusional, huh? Welcome to my world. Every year I cheer for these OSU Buckeyes and every year is just as disappointing as the previous. You’d think that the 2nd largest school in the nation could field a football team that can contend but nooooooo…

I don’t care who wins and loses, I just like to watch good football. But I seriously hope GB kicks the crap out of Chicago just to put all you Chicago fans in your place! (that’s another joke )
