Hi All
I’ll be working out in Dallas for two weeks starting 18th January. Any suggestions as to what a London bloke miles away from home should check out gratefully accepted. Sports/bars/events/tourist attractions – anything.
Thanks
January 9, 2007 at 12:49 pm #124679Is there cow tipping in Dallas? Thats always fun.
January 9, 2007 at 2:23 pm #124680This is Javro`s trip,we`ve all come to watch him slip,he`s slipping all the way to Texas, can you dig it?

I know someone on another site who lives in Texas, want me to ask him?
January 9, 2007 at 2:32 pm #124681you can go to the texas school book depository..
January 9, 2007 at 10:27 pm #124682I liked Dallas a lot! Deep Ellum is where all the cool bars are
Old warehouse district; saw my first DinoJr concert there (@Trees) in the mid 1990s.January 10, 2007 at 3:20 am #124683When Scorpio gave his farewell gift to Homer, was it the denver, or the dallas cowboys ?
I’d check up on that while in dallas if I were you.January 10, 2007 at 5:27 am #124684Might I inquire as to what a handsome british lad as yourself has done to deserve such a geographical malady ?
January 10, 2007 at 9:03 am #124685I went to Dallas a few years back for a business meeting/confrence. I didn’t like it there at all, I would have much rather gone to Austin. But being from the greater Seattle metro area I get that way with most places I go.
January 11, 2007 at 4:34 pm #124686Scorpio gave Homer the Denver Broncos, much to his dismay.
I would take a trip to Austin and try and get on Austin City Limits. They’re always having good bands on there.
Like SG, I also have a friend in Dallas. I’ll ask
January 11, 2007 at 7:40 pm #124687yeah i was just in dallas for thanksgiving while my father got a transplant.. it is not a good city to judge the rest of america by, but it does have some cool stuff to do.. you can check out the spot john f kennedy got killed, they got a great farmers market, and the dallas stars.. a great hockey team ! hockey is a great sport.. i like the games.. its rough an rowdy and easy to figure out.. they have a cool district downtown with clubs and such… but everyone there told me austin is the shit in texas.. it is the bohemian center of the state.. with great music and bar scene. they have a huge indie music festival there with hundreds of bands .. forget what its called.. the bad stuff is lots of crack and the weed tastes like donkey ass..

Actually I think that’s the city’s motto.I prefer the State motto "Don’t mess with Texas" I always thought it sounded tough. Then when I went there I found out it just meant "don’t litter". How lame is that?
January 12, 2007 at 12:35 pm #124691Hey, there is nothing lame about keeping the earth clean.
I liked living in New Hampshire and driving around with the state motto "Live Free Or Die" on my license plate. Made me feel all bad ass.

They got Son Volt to write their motto?
