Top-notch show last night, with a packed house and a very enthusiastic crowd. There was one surprise in the set list — I Don’t Want to Go There, which sounded EXCELLENT. Otherwise, it was strictly oldies, but played with a lot of force:
In A Jar
Repulsion
Back to Your Heart
(from here I think it’s out of order)
I Don’t Want to Go There
Little Fury Things
Out There
Feel the Pain
Crumble
Pick Me Up
Forget the Swan
Kracked
SludgeFreak
ChunksI think that’s all. Lou and Murph seemed in high spirits, while J looked like he might’ve had a cold, though his singing was unusually good and he played the hell out of his guitar. The sound, as people have noted about other shows on this tour, was superb.
Figured out that last night was my 28th Dino/Fog show (spread out over 20 years). No wonder my ears ring all the time.

Kidding. Sort of.

How does this rank among those 28?It was definitely above-average, though the band has been consistently great all through the reunion. I’ve never seen J play a "bad" show, though some performances have been more or less inspired. All their playing seemed pretty inspired last night.
Can’t wait until they come back through with a set full of new material!
June 23 feels like a long way off…….

Thanks to whoever filmed it and put it on youtube!
April 12, 2009 at 2:52 pm #134581I’m midway through the video evidence… and I have one thing to say. I have newfound faith in "I Don’t Wanna Go There", all of a sudden its magicka just smashed me to bits. Bring on Farm, I’m almost ready… thanks for filming it, whoever did. And may Dino debut some more songs on tour, because June 23rd feels even more away now, and I’m sure that the 10 cuts we don’t know are gonna be pretty unbelievably great too…

I thought you were still in CA….huh? Yes, we know all about the tenure situation because we live in a college town. Many folks come and go…One of my closest friends got a sweet tenure-track job in PA…in State College, so we had to say our goodbyes. That’s always hard, had a couple from Colombia that we loved, she was teaching here for just a few years and then we had to say our goodbyes. You know. Nice poster up above with the apple and all. Also I like the word "Magicka" from above. I’m gonna watch that little clip and then head for bed.
April 12, 2009 at 9:02 pm #134585Oh, I forgot to say Congratulations Tubby, it’s great to score a job like that. I’m sure your students will love you.
April 13, 2009 at 12:45 pm #134586Hello all, I’m new here. I’m the one that posted that clip on youtube. I was pumped they played IDWGT live, unfortunately that’s all I captured on video. I snapped a few pics as well, nothing as good as the previous poster though. Thank you for those! While my friend was at the merch booth he overheard a conversation that the new album would be a double album. Was news to me, but maybe not everyone. haha
