This is the third time I’ve discovered J.’s dates before the general public just by goofing around on pollstar. Huzzah!
April 14, 2005 at 4:41 pm #108626WOOOHOOOO! No Indianapolis but I didn’t expect that anyway. I wonder why no Chicago? Anyway, I’ll be at the MI, KY or OH show or all three. Sucks they’re all during the week. Oh well.
Any word on when these go on sale?

April 14, 2005 at 6:01 pm #108628There an article up at MTV.com right now about these US shows. I hope they do a show somewhere in Texas or else I may have to fly somewhere and I REALLY don’t have the money for that.

April 14, 2005 at 8:45 pm #108629I was hoping they would tour during the summer. I teach, so I’m lucky to have the summer off. Usually I hit about 3 of J’s midwest stops when he tours during the summer, but I’m going to do my best to hit about 5 this summer.
Cant wait!
April 14, 2005 at 9:37 pm #108630Wow, look at all of those days back to back.

central park summerstage … how many people can see that sort of event ? is it usually taped or broadcast ? what’s the deal w/that as well …

I think Lollapalooza is a one-time show in Chicago’s Grant Park this year.

From what I understand, J doesn’t at all like the guys who have monopolized the club scene in Northampton and practically never plays there (aside from small shows with other bands (like Wank Factor) at the Baystate, I think the last time he played Noho was in ’97 (!) with Dino Jr). That leaves only one of the colleges in Amherst for possible venues, and it’s probably easier for them just to play an established room in Boston. Hell, the Fog have only played Amherst once, and they’ve done considerable touring in the northeast over the past few years.
Summerstage shows probably hold a couple thousand people, if the stage area is the same one at which I saw a show a number of years back. Most shows there are free, but some — and I assume Dino will be among them — charge for admission. As for being taped and/or broadcast, I doubt it.
