After a blisterning set last night in Brooklyn, NY the band awoke this morning to find that the their trailer had been broken into and all of the gear has been taken.

J’s Amma guitar, the mountain man guitar, Lou’s Rickenbacker… EVERYTHING IS GONE.
They are still taking inventory to see what else is gone but they were pretty much wiped out.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Spread the word to everyone you know, every music store, pawn shop, club… anywhere you can think they may show up.
If you have ANY information let us know – management@jmascis.com

      Thank you.

The band is driving to Amherst to see if they can get enough gear together to play the scheduled show @ Toads in New Haven, CT but it may have to be cancelled.

      – I just added this to digg to help bring awareness – please digg it so we can get the news out there!!!! –

This has happened to countless other bands (I think in the same area) and no one has caught the jerks yet. This is really fucking sad. If those jerks read this, and laugh, I’ll be even more pissed. I’ll do what I can on my end.

I heard that Sonic Youth actually did get the gear stolen from them back recently so there is hope (I just hope it does not take that long)

Stress, this is an ongoing problem in this area (they know it, but when they know you know, it makes a difference)

I’m sure it’s been done but get all of the serial numbers into NCIC today…………………plead with the cops, because it gets busy and it is easy to sit on that NCIC paper work for one or two days and not get it into the computers (unless it’s a missing person, because it’s against the law to sit on that paper work)

ask them how soon can it be put into GCIC. Keep on the dectective handling your case to do a NCIC pawn search……………..every few days……………………….detectives get busy but the victims are the ones who keep their own case active (unless of course it’s a murder) but for some stolen music gear, it can get pushed to the bottom of the paper work……………………..be nice……………..tell them you are really thankful for all of their help in helping you get your gear back…………………..bring them some bagles or doughnuts or something……………..(I’m not kidding)

Sorry, I know this is heartbreaking but stuff does get found everyday, it does get found!

Man that is is seriously fucked up. Whatever happened to respecting the artists. I mean no on would dare steal hendrix’s gear.

But… if they see it posted everywhere, they might sit on the gear for a while… I’m pretty sure these are savvy bastards who were salivating all over the thought of pissing people off more than making money off vintage band gear. Unless they had an order.

Sorry to post again but I had another thought.
Find out (start by asking the cops and then move on)
who has video surveillance cameras in the area that may
                                  have caught anything……………….
You can all imagine, that a detective is not going to
go door to door looking for video surveillance for some guitars and such……………
If it were a missing child or a rape, yeah, but not for missing "stuff"
no matter how important it is to you, you have to be your own detective.
Is anyone available to stay a few days in New
York and look into these things?

Oh, Anthony now has something to work with, number ID
Everyone who can, should copy this list of gear and serial numbers

Enlarge it a bit and put in big letters B O L O (be on the look out) on the top of the paper, take it to your local pawn shops, thats how the cops would do it although more and more with the computer these days.
                                  Stress how thankful you are.
crap, I’m on a lunch break and not focused, if you are not in the state of New York, put stolen out of Long Island City, NY (modified) and the date on the bottom, also a Police department contact phone number on the bottom would be helpful, Anthony do you have that?
