‘Beyond’ features original line-up
Dinosaur Jr. have announced the details of their forthcoming album.‘Beyond’ will be released in the US on May 1, and features the band’s original line-up for the first time in 18 years.

‘Crumble’
‘Pick Me Up’
‘Back to Your Heart’
‘This Is All I Came to Do’
‘Been There All the Time’
‘It’s Me’
‘We’re Not Alone’

January 26, 2007 at 10:35 am #125200Wonder if there’ll be bonus tracks on the Japanese edition? A couple of the titles originally mooted for the album have disappeared, like "By the Fire" and at least one more. Sounds like bonus material to me….
January 26, 2007 at 10:51 am #125201Didn’t J end up scrapping a few of the original ones because they didn’t turn out like he wanted them to. Maybe thats what happened. I’ll be surprised if they get released.

Having reunited last year with its original lineup for the first time since 1989, Dinosaur Jr. is nearly finished with a new studio album, Billboard.com can reveal. Guitarist J. Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph tracked the as-yet-untitled set at Mascis’ home studio in Amherst, Mass., and are eyeing a spring 2007 release on a label to be announced.Tracks earmarked to appear on the disc include "By the Fire," "This Is All I Came To Do," "Back to Your Heart" and "Stop." Mascis is in the process of finalizing guitar and vocal parts at present.

At any rate, Japanese cds always have bonus tracks on them to try and entice Japanese fans to shell out the money for them instead of buying cheaper import copies from abroad. Both Fog albums had extra tracks on them, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed……
January 26, 2007 at 1:15 pm #125203I wonder if and when a single will come out.

January 26, 2007 at 2:00 pm #125206Thats exciting but I am sure its going to be Back before you go, or Back To your heart, which will be clearer versions than the live ones but not something new.

I’ll be surprised if they get released. Many many times bands just present "working titles" that were just made up on the spot in the practice space or studio, simply to have a song-name to label a tape or so… for example, many tracks on Pavement’s "Wowee Zowee" had radically different song titles on the demo that was given out to journalists for review and then, when the final album was out, several song titles had radically changed…

Jason from Sebadoh also plays in the Fiery Furnaces, so it all makes sense to me !
