May 12, 2007 at 3:11 pm #128742ok, but there just the opening band right?
May 12, 2007 at 7:00 pm #128743The sound pretty good on record, I really liked their debut.

Justin, I can’t believe you are really only 13 years old, I thought that was a joke, I would never have made a sexually suggestive joke toward you if I really thought you were only 13. Geez. I feel terrible, You don’t type like a 13 year old, although you have that their, there, and they’re confusion that is all too common with 13 year olds. God, please tell me you are really a frustrated 30 year old man and not 13 years old. I didn’t even know the word faggot when I was 13, I first heard that word when I was about 17 or 18 years old. My God, in a few weeks I will have a 13 year old, I feel like a bad Mom, and on Mothers Day!
If you need a permission slip to go and see Dinosaur Jr. I could type one up for you and you could have your parents sign it.
May 13, 2007 at 7:06 pm #128747lol, its fine. and im sure your 13 year old talks the same way and just not in front of you. honestly, these days kids know the word faggot in like 5th or 6th grade
sorry to inform ya. and the sex thing your son? probably knows about unless hes a little weenie with no friends (no offense if he is
)but umm yea…any more questions of 13 year old of today?
May 13, 2007 at 7:59 pm #128748Did you see the pic where they look like crayons? Cuz these pics dont give that impression http://awesomecolor.net/snaps/”>http://awesomecolor.net/snaps/
ps-why argue in a forum, nobody truly wins.May 13, 2007 at 8:08 pm #128749No, my soon to be 13 year old is like an angel……(Don’t think us parents don’t eavesdrop, we know when our children are doing it too,
)…..she is so polite and super kind. She will use the words gay or effeminate to describe someone. In her class at school they have a fellow with mild cerebral palsy, a very overweight girl and they have a child who lost a leg to cancer……….the whole class never makes fun of these kids and includes all of these children in everything they do. They invite them to all of their parties. This group of kids were born in the year of the DOG in Eastern astrology, they are very loyal and kind and they have pretty good parents also.
If I asked her right now, "Have you ever heard the word faggot?" she would say "isn’t that some kind of English word for cigarette?" She has been raised without TV also, so that probably makes a difference. My son just turned 11, all of my kids know where babies come from……….of course my son still says "no way is he ever going to do that, it is just too weird" I told him, it’s really a very beautiful thing and that he may change his mind someday………I hope….. when he is like 25 or 30 or something.
May 13, 2007 at 9:46 pm #128750wow, im honestly surprised. around here (just north of detroit) everyone pretty much knows about everything by the age of 13, though if shes a girl, its a little more common for them to still be pretty innocent. I have to say i respect that though. its kind of morally perverted to think that, within a few years on this earth kids my age (not me) are already having sex and stuff. Like, just 3 years ago it was all star wars n stuff that had our attention and all of a sudden theres kids doin it. i havent, but i know what it is and all that.
anyway, kudos to your kids. im glad theres at least some hope that the world wont end up too fucked up lol

May 15, 2007 at 9:52 pm #128753"JustinStarbuck " wrote:wait…TELL ME MORE!!! WHAT ELSE DO PARENTS IN THERE 40s DO? like, how do they spy on us n stuffI finally have time to tackle this question…….every parent is different……….some parents are just too busy to care once a child can shower and dress themselves. Also my children are not old enough to get into real trouble yet. I still like to monitor their conversation……….I will hang around outside a door sometimes just to catch a bit of what they are talking about with friends.
I have always let them know when E-mail is left open on the computer, I will look and see who is writing to them. I don’t read my oldest daughters diary or journal, and I don’t go through her drawers. All of our computers are in the central portion of the house, I am always paying attention to where they go on the computer. My husband smokes and we have both had long conversations with our children about "pot".
We drink so rarely in this house but we do drink. I want them to know that smoking and drinking are things that they may want to try but to PLEASE….come to Mama or Daddy first because I don’t want them to be unsafe. I think the best defense is to let them try pot and alcohol if they want, sometimes it helps to get it out of your system. Drinking scares me more than pot because young people can get hurt when they use alcohol………young girls can find themselves in a bad situation when you drink outside of the home. The biggest truth is that if you drink more than two drinks it is so taxing to the liver that your body is going to feel gross as it struggles to rid itself of poison. My oldest daughter is a health nut and a super follower of Christ but I already know which of my children are going to be my "Wieuca"……..a word some of us Mamas use for "wild child" or "free spirit". It’s not going to be my oldest. I will always listen in on their conversation……..because I want to know "where their head is at" I pray a lot for my children. Of course, like every parent, I don’t want them to make the same mistakes, and of course I know they will make their own. It’s very difficult being a parent……you love your children so much and never want them to be hurt but the bottom line is, life is a struggle and full of discomfort and sorrow, teaching them some strategies to cope with lifes ups and downs should be a parents number one priority.May 16, 2007 at 10:30 pm #128754wow
