The guy told me his partner was in China. I’m guessing they are made there.

China and Vieatnam are where all nike’s are made, aren’t they ? I had a mate working in Hong Kong, he bought a pair of nike’s in norway and then the same pair in Hong Kong to see if he could spot the difference. On the Hong Kong ones the label that tells the size was a little further to the right than on the ones he bought in norway.
I hope the cancellation of the purchase goes in order, if that’s what you want to do.
January 19, 2007 at 11:40 am #119529I skateboarded for like 20 years, and I don’t really get these shoes at all. They look like old-school Air Jordan basketball shoes. I don’t see any kind of support or padding for skateboarding, but maybe I’m just an over-the-hill old school skater who hasn’t set foot on a board in 5 years.
Sorry to hear about those ebay auctions. That’s like buying a ‘photo of a PS3’ for $700.

They told me I wasn’t responsible for paying for the item. I just emailed paypal to find out about getting my money back. Hopefully I do. If anything at least I got some fake Dinosaur Jr shoes off the web. I really hope this works out, because it sucks.Unfortunately, you’re probably screwed. If the auction says that they are not real, then PayPal will tell you to go F yourself. I got screwed out of $175 on a counterfeit Nike golf driver back in October by a scammer in China that had hijacked a valid eBay account (google "Jingbo Han" and you’ll see). There are only two ways to dispute a payment in PayPal:
1 – "Item not received"; obvious if you never get it
2 – "Item not as described"; if the auction did, in fact, say "grade A replica", then it is as described. You can try and file under this, but don’t hold your breath. My full ordeal is at http://www.paypalsucks.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=21188&fid=5″>http://www.paypalsucks.com/forums/showt … 1188&fid=5
January 19, 2007 at 1:45 pm #119531Paypal/ebay doesn’t really suck though. I use it all of the time. As long as you are smart, and you read EVERYTHING, you are going to be ok. And if you have a question or a doubt, ask the seller. Or ask someone here! Do research on the seller BEFORE you buy something. I never buy something from someone on ebay who is not a POWER SELLER, or someone who does not have an EBAY STORE with TONS of positive feedback.
I would be very weary in buying these shoes on ebay. Where is a seller going to get them from if they are not even for sale yet?And they’re ugly as hell. I think J is laughing. Because damn, they are really fugly.

January 19, 2007 at 4:01 pm #119533Oh my god.. I am so sorry to hear about these scammers. My husband said that someone actually contacted him about the shoes via e-mail and informed him of the auction. (I am guessing because we have dinosaur jr. information in our history or something.) I dealt with a scam one time on ebay and I hate to see it happen to anyone. Good luck, Tony!
January 19, 2007 at 4:47 pm #119534Thanks, still no word from the seller. Paypal told me there wasn’t anyway for them to refund my money. Hopefully they don’t come then I’ll have a case. If they do come they better be as advertised Grade a replicas.

January 19, 2007 at 9:38 pm #119536I retract my previous statement of. "I am going to rock a pair".
I have been a dino-jr fan since the begining, but GOD-AMM THOSE ARE FREEKIN UGLY.
they look more like somthing a mid 80s rapper would wear.January 19, 2007 at 10:53 pm #119537Well the guy I bought them from already shipped them. He said I should have them in about 6 days, so no refund for me. I am the proud owner of fake Dinosaur Jr shoes. I guess if they are spot on replicas they’ll be cool. I wish I would have never found out they were fake, ignorance is bliss. :-
January 20, 2007 at 11:41 am #119538That Dinosaur Jr & Tampa skate thing would have been "just like heaven"..
January 20, 2007 at 5:38 pm #119539The Dino shoes are very ugly, but so are quite a few of the Dinosaur shirts I’ve worn over the years.
January 21, 2007 at 8:00 pm #119540Dinosaur Jr converses would be excellent
