Well…..check out the man’s dress sense: an open purple, or green, jogging top over a t-shirt with an airbrushed wolf-howling-at-moon, or diving-whales, picture on it.

The funny thing is, the "wolf howling at the moon" motif is tattooed on every trailerpark arm in my neck of the woods – and then I see it emblazoned across the chest of my favorite musician.. hehehe..

It is kind of like Ronald Miller making the African Anteater dance a craze in "Can’t Buy Me Love"

I was just on vacation in Seaside, Or and almost bought one of those shirts because J wears them. I think they’re horrible looking, and can’t understand why J would sport em’. When it came down to it I couldn’t bring myself to buy one, instead I chose the pirate t-shirt that says "Surrender the Booty" ;)

Oh, and the shoes truly are fucking ridiculous looking, so I can’t help but sort of laugh at this entire thread.

Besides, those who say "I would never wear Nike. My converse are the best." My converse are the best too, but I would DEFINETLY be the first in line to buy some dino chucks. Hell, give me seven pair because my ass would be wearing one every day of the week.

Converse is just as big a name now as nike, if in a different arena. It was the "original basketball shoe" and outcasts, artists, frat boys, and cheerleaders alike can be seen sporting them on any given school campus. I can’t say that I know the sweatshop story behind it because my causes are mostly with the animals, but the moment J comes out with purple cow or Greenmind "cigarette" edition chucks, I’ll be modeling them in my profile pic.

Hehehe.. Okay, you’ve done it now!! I MUST go to my local Goodwill and pick up a wolf shirt today. I will post the photo on here sometime soon. I challenge you to do the same.. Although, I doubt the pickings for wolf howling shirts could be near as abundant in Washington state as what one might find in Jackson, TN.

I bet you I’ll find one (a brand new one) at the first Indian reservation I go to. Does it have to be tie died looking too?

Ooohhh.. Extra points scored for the tye-died wolf shirt!! I think I’ll take deepsIush’s idea and stop at the truck stop on my way home. We get lots of travel men along I40 – whether it be wolves howling or rebel flags waving – we’ve got em’ covered!

actually Im pretty sure converse is owned by Nike now, and for the record all politics aside I’d rather wear Nike’s then Converse, those All Stars are soo uncomfy

Agreed!! All Stars can be a little rough on the heels. For some reason, however, they are like my safety blanket. Although I know nothing about the Nike/Converse merge, it doesn’t surprise me. Thanks for the info bateman!

Tonas: I’ll take the ferocious wolf and you can have the mild, pensive version on the bottom. Next dinosaur convention, the wolf shirts are on.

why not there a bit of fun!!

music critics never criticize hip hop groups for having there own clothes (eg wu-tang outkast), if anyone starts that pathetic sell out crap, there just being huge hypocrites!!!!

plus its just silly dinosaur jr have been around for ages, who are they selling out too???

u never hear rappers getting shit for wearing brands such as Nike, even socially active ones such as De la or Kanye West always seem to be sporting a fresh pair of kicks, yet when a rock band goes wear eagles dare all hell breaks loose… its such bullshit!!!!!!!!

I never throw the word "sell-out" around too loosely. It has lost any hope of containing a genuine connotation.. Agree w/ you on the rapper clothes – I just wouldn’t wear them. Meanwhile, I am still holding out for my dinosaur chucks..

The indie kids that are so hung up on "selling out" always cracked me up. I’ve always felt bad for indie bands, because many of their fans are so fair weather.

Sign to a major=sellout….How stupid is that. The musicians should just focus on doing what makes them happy.

I saw an interview with Thurston Moore where he was comparing punk and rap, and how they were both pretty radical forms of expression. He went on to say that a big difference was raps attitude toward becoming popular.

Hey, sorry if u took my last post the wrong way :( I wasn’t accusing you of calling Dino ‘sell-outs’ at all.
Rather my comments were directed at the whole forum in general (not an angry attack on your previous post), to get peoples opinion on music critic’s and their hypocrisy when writing about groups in different genres of music. (e.g. rapper vs. indie rockers)

And in regard to you, ‘holding out’ till Converse brings out a Dino shoe… hey you never know it may happen(considering they’re the same company as nike) …but lets just hope the do a better job than there last effort with a rock band!!!… ;D
