I know a few of you have teenagers………..Are they not the best when you have raised them doing your very best?

Last night my oldest two children stayed up with me and right before Dinosaur Jr came on I said outloud (half joking) "Pray for Dinosaur jr!" and my son said……….."prayer wont work for them"….I was shocked and said "what do you mean?"……..and he said " it’s too late for prayer"….and I said "no, they are just getting ready to go on, it’s never to late for prayer"….and then he, in all of his little wisdom said "Mom, it said before the show that it was recorded at 5:30 pm…you ding-dong, you can go ahead and pray, but it’s already been done……Okay, Good point, Juan Carlos.
Although, I think Murph could use all the prayer he can get even after the fact……….Murph was great BTW, I’m always ragging on Murph, he did a great job.

It never stops being scary–the amount of people that talk to their invisible friend(s) in the sky.

"Invisible Pink Unicorns are beings of great spiritual power. We know this because they are capable of being invisible and pink at the same time. Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can’t see them."

Really Fog…if you find it scary…that means your scared….I don’t dig fear….you shouldn’t either. I have no invisible "friends" in the sky…but I have found a source of great spiritual power (like your pink unicorn)
It’s stems from the very center of the Atoms circulating among me and goes straight into the sky and beyond.

Connecting with this source is pretty cool………Well, as I love to say..(when friends are in crisis or at some sort of crossroad in life)….IN the middle of your ayahuasca trip is not the time to discover you need to get right (in alignment) with God.
Getting in alignment means tuning into the God frequency, Christ frequency (doesn’t matter what you call it)…raising your vibration out of fear out of judgement (I know..it’s always a work in progress…esp. for me)
and then you kind of remain in love.

You know, I liken it to that movie "clerks" no, no the other film that guy did "Mallrats" and there is the fellow that is forever standing in front of those things they use to have in malls…that sort of 3-D thing…that you stand in front of and let your focus relax and then you see the image. "God" (for lack of a better word…that’s the one we have…"Bog" "Allah" "Dios" whatever) takes effort….I can’t make you or anyone else see it…..but once you do…..you will never not see it!!!!
I understand the frustration with "religion"…..I fill in as a 911 operator from time to time, and one of the saddest calls I ever handled (and I’ve heard a lot of heartbreak) was a women from Prince Avenue Baptist Church (one of our biggest Baptist churches in Athens) and she called (she had her husband with her so she wasn’t alone) to tell me that she was there to open the church on Sunday morning get the coffee started and such…..and that there was a homeless man camped up under the porch that leads into the church…and she needed an officer to come and remove him before the rest of the congregation started to arrive….I couldn’t believe it…..I was like "Did you think to invite him in for coffee..perhaps see if he would like to get his Jesus on with you." I mean WWJD..for real! (So I’ve seen it all ,almost) and understand how easy it is to make fun of God.
Rita Marley wrote a great song called "Thank you Ja" that song sums it up for me…you should have a listen to it sometime.
Now, I’m sure to have pissed of rspaceman because I didn’t figure out a way to bring Dinosaur Jr. into all of this. I edited this to reflect a song I think speaks to Chicago Fog from me…Rita sings…you can keep your opinion…I like to pray…. listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2tAoUAq1Ss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2tAoUAq … re=related

Hey, I thought I could turn this thing around back to Dinosaur Jr. I just got an e-mail…this afternoon….from a Freakscene member saying….."thought you might like to see this" and it included a link to the Dinosaur Jr."Pieces" from the Jimmy Fallon show. I wrote back and said…"How long has it been since you have been over to Freakscene?" the answer was…..a long time.

Oh,oh…I got to hang out a bit with Kyle on Friday night and you know what he told me….the Fog may be playing other shows while they are over there together in December….it’s still in the works….but it sounded good…LUCKY all you Freaksceners over there. Oh, how I wish I could get to see some of that….OH, and I asked the best question, I asked "So will you go there a little early and rehearse for a few weeks since you don’t play together all the time" and he made the funniest face….a big sort of baffled….and then said "Nah".
He also said he was "looking forward to it"…..with a big smile on. :D

When I mentioned it to my husband later in the evening he said "Musicians who make a living playing music are professionals..you know….they don’t need to rehearse…they have played together before so they tend know what they are doing"

I bet SG was thinking of the other Tony….Deepslush.

It could have been Fata Morgana…but I don’t want to say.

Listening to Farm right now……..as I mop the kitchen……..my kids are loving the songs…singing along.

I mentioned my kids rspaceman because they are such a big part of my everyday life….they are my love and my life…right now.

I had Farm on earlier. The guitar solo on I Don`t Wanna Go There is the best thing I`ve heard all year :)

Ocean in the way…is so sweet and catchy…..I so want to try and get on video the young ones singing the refrain. The big kids have the I-touch and I never would have thought the day would come when I could carry Freakscene around in my pocket..(I would say purse but I don’t have a purse..too girly girl.)….Daddy wanted to get an I-phone for me but I said….no thanks…I’m a simple kind of person…now I’m rethinking that idea. Sort of funny however to go to the pool and see our teens sitting all together under one umbrella on their I-things…the Mama’s under another umbrella on our laptops…the littlest ones paddling around in the water on their noodles…all of us enjoying summer. Don’t get me wrong we do read…my fav reading today has been a collection of many "Farm" reviews all bunched up together here: http://apps.metacritic.com/music/artists/dinosaurjr/farm”>http://apps.metacritic.com/music/artist … aurjr/farm

I wonder why will still have to log in again everytime we go to post?
It makes me really want to set my hair on fire and put it out with a pitchfork.
rspaceman (and others here) are probably thinking….could you just go ahead and do that….for real…for us…put us out of our misery.
Hey perhaps we do some crafting with the kids later on today…we could build some guitar pedals out of popsicle sticks and yarn..and I don’t know a battery or two.

Are you having that problem here? I have not been logged out in over a month (on my laptop, desktop and iphone). What browser/OS are you using.

btw, I hope you keep talking about your kids on here. It is pretty rad to say the least and there are lot more of us parents around here these days ;)
                        Do whatever’s cool with you

Jimmy Fallon has his own show?! Where have I been? But oh wow, yes, they sounded great! And do sound great! Farm has been playing almost non stop since I got it.

ps Stefka, when I sign in I click the little box that says sign me in automatically each visit. If I don’t click on that button I have to re-sign in for every new post I make. So using that option makes posting here a billion times easier and when I am ready to leave Freakscene I just logout. Easy Peasy.

pps I love coming here and reading reviews, interviews and getting anything my little hands can gather on everything Dino but I also love how people come here and add their own little slice of life experiences to the Freakscene melting pot. It makes this place so much more personable and to be honest like a little family.
So everybody get along, love your neighbour, love yourself and most importantly love Dinosaur Jr.

That’s the best cut on the record to my ears. The whole album is REALLY strong, but that tune’s the best thing J’s written in a long time. Beautiful stuff.

My favorite part is when it gets mellow and J sings "Come on down got some work to do" and then the solo is sweet! Definately good stuff. :)

I wish we could sit down and have a debate you could bring up Mallrats and 3D signs…and ramble on about 911 calls. None of which comes remotely close to proving your claims of a God.
Seems more like a lot of neurological events.
Its okay… its not easy being an Atheist in America. I have to deal with listening to stuff like this all the time. I couldn’t imagine let alone being in a small Southern town.

Well, I hope the invisible powers you have your kids pray to don’t tell them to fly a plane into the buildings my kids will be working in.
