I agree 100% @Obseqio J’s management has really stepped up the game.
I would like to see more singles and b-sides but it is a different world so who knows.@empire2 – a whole band of the dolls would be great. Wish Mcfarlane would start a series like that http://www.spawn.com/toys/categorytype.aspx?categoryid=7
also LUCKY bastridge!!!!! 😉August 1, 2012 at 12:18 pm #139037Items I would love to see….
A complete 7″ boxset of ever single
A collection of all the videos on DVD
Something really special for the 20th year of Where you been (best album ever made in my normally right opinion) 🙂August 2, 2012 at 5:51 am #139038Ok here’s the down low…..
Watch the corners is being released on the 27/08/12 with a b side of ‘now the fall’
There’s just one ten track cd and lp being released in Europe .17/09/12
Plus the Japanese 11 track CD with Black Betty(tbc cover?)
The digital is also a 10 track apart from iTunes which has the exclusive pond song live bonus track .
That’s all folks !
August 2, 2012 at 10:04 am #139039YES! I love bonus tracks and albums and EPs 🙂
Can’t wait. Thanks for the heads up!
August 2, 2012 at 12:54 pm #139040I’ve listened to the album all day and it reminds me of a fog album more than beyond or farm – I will spoil say no more !
August 2, 2012 at 2:36 pm #139041Empire, thanks for the all info. How’re y’all so up on the lowdown (and how’d YOU get the album so early)? 😉
It wouldn’t spoil the anticipation/surprise for me to hear what you think about the new album. Do tell. What about I Bet on Sky reminds you of a Fog album? Keyboards? I read and enjoyed the interview posted today but was a little confused by the author saying the keyboards on I Bet on Sky are a departure from prior albums; More Light has hella keyboards.
Do you have a vinyl copy? What’s the back cover artwork like?
August 2, 2012 at 3:00 pm #139042Hey hybridge, I was going to PM you but to be honest its three of four songs with keyboards or a slighty ‘funky(wah wah)’ sound that remind me of a mix of more light/free so free…… It could be there brother.
To most people I doubt they would say its far removed from Farm.
I’m guessing the interviewer didn’t include the fog albums.
But if I’m ranking and of course this would change daily ! I would say on the last 3 albums Beyond/I bet on sky and Farm ……Lou’s stuff is cool ! Although I prefer the acoustic version of rude now.
Also guitar solos are present but not as big as before !? – still great but no alone / I don’t want go there type action(not a bad thing )
So I don’t sound like NME – basically if you like dinosaur jr I can promise you ! You will love this !
I worked in music industry for 12 years so i can sneak an album or concert ticket now or again .
Just a numbered promo cd …. No vinyl printed yet !

Here’s the quote from the article:

I guess ‘mostly favoured’ can mean anything you want it to. I hear keyboards on other albums, so don’t get the ‘quite a departure’ part but it’s no biggie. Maybe the whole album sounds new and different to this interviewer and the piano parts just stand out more.

To me, that is sort of moving towards ‘a bad thing’–I love I Don’t Want to Go There and Alone type action and was initially a bit disappointed at the short song lengths listed for this album. My attention span is intact and I want to hear *lots* of guitar playing, esp. expansive, boiling, expeditionary soloing. “Watch the Corners,” or at least what I’ve heard of it through computer speakers and my phone, is pretty incredible even without sprawling solos, though it seems the guitar gets cut short on this song (fades out), when I would’ve been good for at least a few more minutes of extemporizing.
Thanks for your thoughts on the album; looking forward to hearing it soon.
