This just in:
The reunited Dinosaur Jr will play 2 German dates between June 10-12 at the Hurricane & Southside Festival. I got this from a "very reliable" source via Cargo Records… The press statement is in German, so I won´t post all of it here, but the dates have been confirmed this Tuesday…

i don’t think they’ll be playing on the 10th itself b/c that’s when they’re scheduled to play donnington …
Hurricane is in Scheeßel (North Germany, near Bremen) & Southside in the South of Germany, near the Swiss border. Both Festivals are 3 day evemts (10-12 June) and are organized by the same group of people. Since Dinosaur are scheduled to play at Download Festival on June 10, I guess they´ll be playing Germany on June 11 & 12… tickets are about 90 Euros and are very expensive…
oh ok … so it’s like the reading/leeds festivals here which take place on the same weekend … (or maybe that’s the v festival !)
well, anyway … that’s cool … maybe j will get some time to visit his in-laws
and of course it’s great news for all you german fans … will you get to go ? … or are you going to hold out + see if they do some club dates like maybe in berlin …

…well, actually, that’s what I was kinda "afraid of": the Hurricane Festival is only about 80 km away from my city and there is an ok train connection, so I could go, at least with a day ticket for the actual night
but I h-a-a-a-a-a-t-e festivals
… have to sleep that over! I really prefer a normal concert in a normal hall, so London is still my favorable Dino event according to http://www.dinosaurjr.com the dates are as follows:
Southside festival on SAT June 11th
Hurricane festival on SUN June 12thon the sites of the Hurricane and Southside festivals, the timetable is now out. And it says for Dinosaur Jr:
Hurricane festival: SAT 11, 1:00 – 2:00 am
Southside festival: SUN 12, 9:00 -10:00 pm(…the dates on dinosaurjr.com are the other way round…)
on both festivals, Dinosaur Jr is the last band to play on the respective night, and other than most of the bands they’ll play 1 hour instead of about 45 minutes
A sad chapter is the ticket price. there are no day tickets like in the last years, and for the entire w/e, it’t 89 Euros + 5 Euros refuse fee
Among the other bands, there’s no "must-have" band for me.

🙂I will be somewhere quite close to Schleessel(Hurricane) at the same time as the festival, so I’ll try to go and listen to Dinosaur Jr. A ‘non-festival’-gig in Hamburg would be better for me aswell because I am not so into the other bands, though Flogging Molly and …and you will know us-blablabla are quite good live.
