I had to read Kafka at school, so I see these books quite with a certain distance…
Several years ago, when I was 20 or so, I read Kerouac & William S. Borroughs, which I found both cool, back then.

Do you still read today though, most people hate and despise it, where it has come to be the opposite with me. I hate and despise TV, with a passion

            I’m neutral about TV, I don’t have one :)
I don’t read as much as I want to, maybe in my next vacation…

Rich, I had to say I love to read. It is now my favorite escape.
We don’t have television here. I am now reading "The Journals of John Cheever" and am almost finished. I also had to read Kafka, my last year of High School and had to read Bukoski in College, I found both reads very Dry, but I was only 18 and 19 or so.

I Love H.S. Thompson and the little Steinbeck I have read (2) I thought was nice. Robert Anton Wilson is very good.

I wish everyone would turn away from television, way to babylon.

My next book will be "The stories of John Cheever" I am on a Cheever roll.

nice, i need to check out Cheever, if you like H.S.T. you should check out a book called "Slow Learner" by thomas pynchon

heres the first couple sentences of the a short story called "entropy" by pynchon

"Downstairs, Meatball Mulligan’s lease-breaking party was moving into its 40th hour. On The kitchen floor, amid a litter of empty champagne fifths, were Sandor Rojas and three friends, playing spit in the ocean and staying awake on Heidseck, and benzedrine pills. In The living room Duke, Vincent, Krinkles and Paco sat crouched over a 15-inch speaker which had been bolted into the top of a wastepaper basket, listeninng to 27 watts’ worth of ‘The Heroes’ Gate At Kiev’. "

right now im trying to get into James Joyce, im having a hard time, I gave up on "Finnegans Wake" which is almost impossible to read without 5 keys to teh book bye you, and ive moved on to "The Dubliners" which I am finding to be very boring, I guess Joyce isnt for everyone

Tried to ‘get into’ James Joyce a couple of times, after a few tries with different books I decided that dB & JJ are not compatible…

Currently reading: Paul Auster’s ‘Oracle Night’, great book! 8)

I love in ON THE ROAD, Old Bull Lee the William S Burroughs character has the ugly painting or picture on his wall, and everyone asks him why he has it up there after seeing it, and he just replies because its the ugliest thing he’s ever seeen in his life,

i wish i read more. the library is very far away from my home. i do read the bible a lot, as well as dickens and david sedaris. its weird cuz im not religious but i read the bible. its just an interesting read, if youre religious or not.

also, i do own a tv, but theres only two reasons why:
                                  1. the daily show
                                  2. king of the hill
