Ive been a J/Dino fan for a goddam long time. Been to every Dino/J gig in Syndey since 1995, Got every album, single, rarity, tour poster, met J a bunch of times.

I thought Free So Free was the biggest crock of shit ever. I think the new songs are boring as hell. Tix for Sonic Youth andf J went on sale today, and his solo shows should soon to. And i aint even fussed if I go. Couldnt care less…

Does that mean the party is over and its time to go home?
I think im now an official ‘non-J’ fan? Help

If you did`nt like Free So Free that does`nt mean you should`nt go to see J.It`s a live show,he`s not going to just play tunes from FSF,you get to hear yr fave Dino songs I have a friend on another site who`s a big Guided By Voices fan but hates Do The Collapse and Isolation Drills,he still goes to see them play live though.

i agree w/sg on this … whether you liked free so free or not, you can be sure j’ll play songs other than the ones on free so free … anyhow, sometimes when you hear a song played live, you appreciate it more (or at least that’s what is true for me) …

i think you should go … i think you’ll regret it if you don’t …

i was a bit disapointed in free so free (the only song i really really like on it is free so free) but i would do anything to see j playing again. especially since what he plays live is so varied.

I’m no big fan of free so free, but the songs from the album that he plays live is better than on the album in my opinion. And if he follows the same setlists that he’s been doing the last gigs you’re sure to hear songs that spans from early dino up to free so free.
So I would go if I were you.

i like everybody lets me down alot, not a big fan of free so free as an album though. more light is flawless i think though. and i mean youre pretty much garanteed to see shitloads of awesome dinosaur songs and you get to SEE j.. and maybe even talk to him.. and hell prolly play drawerings.. and quest.. haha

Free so Free is fantastic. One of J’s better albums. I can’t believe so many of you don’t like it. Each to their own I suppose.

If only I even had the option of seeing J live again at the moment…..

I used to hate Free so Free. when I first heard it I thought it was just a load of J crap. But as time went on I got used to the glossy production and boring song arrangements and now I can say its an OK album. It’s not fucking great but OK. I pretty much like all the songs on the album except for ‘tell the truth’ and the song "free so free" which features fancy guitar soloing but fancy guitar soloing just bores the living fuck out of me.

Hope you don’t waste the chance to see J based on one album you didn’t like. From the sounds of your J experience…concerts, collection of discs, posters etc your a fan of a lot of his other stuff, go based on that alone!
