My local record shop doesn’t have it in stock, Idiots. Same with the new Shellac album.

June 4, 2007 at 12:06 pm #129489I know, next time im going there with a gun and if they dont have it they’ll be sorry. very very sorry.
June 4, 2007 at 1:46 pm #129490Watched in Saturday night. It’s awesome. Some of the angles on the stationary cameras are weird — very tightly focused on the players sort of like surveillance video — but I thought that was actually pretty cool.

She’s not the the one in the monster suit.
She dates one of the dudes from Sunburned Hand of the Man, and they opened both nights at the middle east. She actually doesnt tour or record with the markers as of late, but is still considered an "honorary member forever".
June 6, 2007 at 3:02 pm #129492whats up with that KOKO fest? any audio or video from it? so many great bands playing whole albums (melvins playin Houdidi, mudhoney playing superfuzz/bigmuff, dinsoaur soinf YLAOM, stooges doing Funhouse, and other great ones too), figured audio or video would have surfaced by now….dvd is , although i have the same complaint about them using Chunks from koko fest, why not go with a song they didnt play at almost every other show? why not Poledo? oh well, i finally got a official dinosaur DVD, so im happy

She’s lovely. And she gets bonus points for having the sense no longer to be playing with that rubbish band.
(Sorry man, couldn’t resist)

June 11, 2007 at 3:36 pm #129495Just got it.Watched it last friday and it’s just great. All I had was that Powerhaus gig from 88 .
June 11, 2007 at 7:51 pm #129496I think the DVD is awesome. Jay’s guitar playing is fantastic and he add lots of color to the songs.
It’s one of the best concert DVDs I’ve seen.
I would have liked to see some closer photography of Jay playing guitar so I can figure out more what he is doing. Also, would have been cool to see the guys talk more, but it’s great.
June 13, 2007 at 2:53 pm #129497I loved it. Looked more like a kickass bootleg than the 500 camera change garbage most bands release. You felt like you were seeing it. I got it in last night and sat the family down to watch it. Had a proud parent moment as my 7 year old yelled out "Hey! Isn’t that the guy from Sebadoh we met?"
The interviews were funny…all those dudes are real spacy. Steve Albini was the only one who didn’t go "ummm…errr….uhhhh…" for over half of the air time. The World Cafe part was my favorite: "So why did Lou leave?"
July 9, 2007 at 5:37 am #129498I rented a copy from Amazon. On my TV J was pretty much inaudible. Guitar solos overlength, J never did know when to stop when playing live, and not enough variation in the solos. I do love Js guitar playing, but some light and shade would have been nice. I found myself, as I often do at Dino live gigs, having my attention wander during yet another solo. At least Lou’s bass was clear on this recording and not down in the sludge. The rickenbacker buzz coming through nicely. Star of the show has to be Murph playing his arms off. I appreciate that the recording was made over a few gigs but the transition is badly handled, the clothes the band wearing (apart from Murph) giving it away. I would have preferred the illusion of it being one gig. Not a bad film though, shame it was made before the new album. The old songs do sound very old now, but then I’m no teenager myself I suppose.

Don’t forget all the "likes." As in "like, that band was just so, like, out there and aggressive yet, like, jangly and melodic too, like, there was just like, no one else like them at the time."
I have no idea when rampant "like" abuse entered everyday American speaking english but IT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BANANAS!!!!!!!!!

It’s kind of hard to disguise the fact that Irving Plaza is four times as big as the Middle East. That said, my only complaint about the dvd is that there should’ve been more of the Irving Plaza show on it.
