Anyone heard of these? They are pretty cool. They make replicas of rare vintage guitars at an affordable price. The guitars are made in China or Korea, but they are dope. They make a Univox Hi Flyer copy that sells for 400 bucks. Can’t beat that. Check em out, I believe you can find them at

September 24, 2008 at 11:42 pm #133510All the reviews on Harmony central are pretty good. The videos I’ve seen on youtube look and sound pretty good too. There are a lot of pro musicians playing them as well. The dude who plays second guitar for REM plays one through an AC30.
I don’t know, if you wanted an Airline guitar a real one would cost you thousands. An Eastwood one would set you back 800 bucks. I bet the Eastwood plays better too. The Mosrite Ventures model is a few grand as well, but the Hi Flyer is 400 bucks.
September 25, 2008 at 6:15 pm #133511When I saw them a couple months ago, they had a touring guitarist and he wasn’t playing an Eastwood, so I haven’t seen that

And yeah of course these guitars are the more logical alternative to one of the real vintage ones.
September 25, 2008 at 6:24 pm #133512I played one today. A shop down in Olympia carries them and I happened to be down there on business today. I can’t believe how nice they are for 400 bucks. I played the Hi Flyer and a Sidejack. They both played really well, and felt pretty beafy. The pickups sounded great too. Initially I thought if I ever bought one I’d have to swap the P-90’s out for Gibson ones and upgrade the pots, but it sounded super dope as is.
Who would a thought such a nice guitar would come out of China? Not me, but I am sold.
September 25, 2008 at 6:31 pm #133513That’s awesome because usually, when I play guitars in that price range, I don’t get a really great natural feel. And the pickups are usually bleh.
My favorite cheapo guitars are Epiphones.
September 26, 2008 at 10:55 am #133514Erin, I think you and I are the only ones on this board anymore. Except Stefka who post a political comment every few days.
Hopefully people start coming around again. I thought it would be more than me and you talking about guitars in here.
Its sad to think Dinosaur only has a few hardcore fans.
September 29, 2008 at 7:38 am #133515Hi, I’ve been lookin’ at these guitars for quite a while. After i saw a test in an English magazine a few years ago. Good site as well with videos. I think they hit a certain price point, then they are made in korea.Things like the Airlines and the Ovation Ultra(Josh homme) etc.
Always get good reviews.
Been busy with the band of late, but will always drift through to see what is going on.September 30, 2008 at 10:24 am #133516The user and all related content has been deleted.
September 30, 2008 at 7:01 pm #133517the pickups in those Airlines only look like humbuckers, they are actually single coils. No shit.
October 1, 2008 at 2:45 pm #133518These are some snazzy looking guitars. They sound great too.
November 9, 2013 at 8:07 pm #133519Hey Tonas, haha. I almost bought one of these “off brand” “new brand” guitars. :-j
I agree skatersonic2002, snazzy. I found a good deal on an Epiphone, Erin, without a neck pickup. Check this Badboy.
April 5, 2014 at 2:58 am #133520I would like to try out the Warren Ellis Signature Tenor models: http://www.eastwoodguitars.com/search.php?search_query=Warren+Ellis
and a couple of Airlines (original ones – hollow fiberglass bodies). 😀
