Reigning champions France got kicked out by Greece, who beat them 1-0, that must be the biggest upset of Euro2004 thus far…..
June 26, 2004 at 7:47 am #102397France out Greece in. It’s a pitty that I had to see that match at home in stead of in Greece.
Tonight the dutch against Sweden.,,brrr!
June 26, 2004 at 7:41 pm #102398Somehow it happened, the Dutch go through to the semi-finals
, must have been a pretty boring game for neutral spectators, it was one of the worst games of the tournament thus far, ending 0-0, only getting exciting in the extra time with the Swedes hitting the crossbar and the post, just minutes before the end of the game, so it went to a penalty shoot-out, the Dutch have a big tradition losing those shootouts, but today WE WON
, so now anything can happen……
, next game: the semi-final against Portugal on Wednesday….June 27, 2004 at 6:21 am #102399Yeah it was a nailbiting shoot-out. Specialy when Cocu mist his penalty, everybody in the orangecoloured Irish-pub was thinking: IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, losing on penalties. But sudden, goalkeeper vd Sar stood up and stopped the swedish rocket. Then Robben, only 20 yearrs of age (remember him of the famous supstitude) managed to finish it of. We are through the semi’s
Portugal will be tough, 50.000 suporters and at least 11 players (referee not included
To be continued!
June 27, 2004 at 11:29 am #102400i bet you guys can do it … portugal don’t look that great to me … just keep those fingers + toes crossed

… + who else around here wishes they could push back the hands of time + place a juicy bet on greece to win that game w/france ? i bet that would’ve paid out a pretty penny …
June 27, 2004 at 11:31 am #102401oh yeah, + please, please no more penalty shoot outs … ugh, they are just horrible, horrible !!!
June 27, 2004 at 2:49 pm #102402Should be quite the challenging game with that crowd but…

…didn’t help, the Danes are out, beaten 3-0 by the Czechs, a short brilliant spell in the second half was enough….

The semi-finals:
Portugal – Holland
Greece – Czech Republic
June 28, 2004 at 1:37 am #102405Half an hour?? Just 15 minutes of powerplay butchered the Danish! 49,63 and the 65th minute..
I think the Greek have a change, a small change. I dream of a Greece/Holland final
But put my money on Czech / Portugal

Greece has been the biggest surprise for me so far in the tournament, other than France and Spain being knocked out allready, and I’m looking forward to the semifinals. From what I’ve seen so far I’m hoping the final will be Holland vs the Czechs. Then again, I thought the final would be france vs spain, so what do I know

Last night our coach Advokaat was almost brought to tears
when journalists asked him about his bitterness after all the critisism about his tacktics. Hope to see him
