Are you talking about that Eliot Window shell thing?

      I don’t know, I’ve never bothered to use it, but since it hasn’t been updated in 2 years, and given the very new arcitecture of WinXP, I have serious doubts. Only one way to find out though…

      Just be prepared to do a reinstall if things go too wrong.

      As for me.. I’m perfectly happy with my Win2k / Win98 dual-boot solution at the moment. I’ll let folks like you find all the XP bugs for me before I invest in it..

        Indeed, Mattman, trial (AND ERROR) just showed EVWM does NOT work well with XP pro.

        I’m currently very happy with my XP Pro, Nt4.0 [with EVWM shell], windows ME triple boot (yes, triple boot) as well so I guess everything’s good.

        My initial thoughts on XP – what’s the big deal? This certainly isn’t ggroundbreaking, although the built in software is prolly going to bolster the anti-trust case against them. Dumb move, Gates.

        Happiness = NT4.0 + EVWM + Office XP + Visual Studio 6 Enterprise Edition… w00t!!1

            http://www.metaphorcity.com/evwm/

            Its a replacement window’s shell that mimics a Unix GUI environment.

            Trust me, once you get used to simply single clicking anywhere to get the "start menu" to pop up, you can never go back.

            Please note: it does far more then that.

              Anyone know if this’ll work? I want to know before I install my copy of XP pro (legally bought, i might add to shame you bootleggers).
