      hi people!

I was just wondering how that amazing explosive guitar sound which appears right before the chorus on"kracked" is made. before the song goes over to"come on babe", the E – C and solo thing ends with a explosion like sound. What fuzz or distortion effect is added to provide the rifgt explosion? I haven’t really tried to find it out myself, burt I was hoping someone could help me with this. <img>

I know exactly what you are talking about. I think that he is rapidly picking while sliding his fingers up two or more srtrings with a lot of fuzz and volume. This part was probably layered on the recording a few times to get it to sound that thick and explosive. He might have used a big muff and a superfuzz on different tracks for the same part. All I’m saying is that it seems to be more of a layered track sound rather than a specific pedal. It would probably be hard to recreate live. Hi.

the Boss: he manages to create that sound live, too.. you’re probably right about it being a combination of several fuzz/distortion pedals going on at the same time plus high volume output.

thanks . I ‘ve always loved that song because of its’ raw power. the song is totally mascis.
