Hey Kids,
I saw several you mention Pete Yorn, I’m working with him tomorrow. its a live in studio radio thing for one of the local stations. I’ll write tomorrow and let you know how it goes, I’m not familiar with his stuff but our receptionist is so I’ll have her jot down a set list.

don’t you think of that piece of shit movie ‘armaggedon’ everytime you hear that ‘leaving on a jet plane’ song? maybe the mascis version isn’t used in the movie, but its all the same. everytime i hear that song, no matter what version, i will think of that god awful scene with ben affleck and liv tyler and the animal cookies. or does he sing it later, before they start training? anyway, i hate that movie.
December 5, 2001 at 8:08 pm #67095cup of coffee : Garbage

the fools we are as men : Ryan Adams
Litle fat baby : SparklehorseDecember 5, 2001 at 8:44 pm #67096Hey Buckingham Rabbit
Nope I don’t think of that horrifying movie when I hear J sing that song, although I can understand your trauma Definitely agree it was a ridiculous movie, actually kinda embarassed I ever went to see it. They don’t use J’s version in the movie its some Canadian singer…that I can’t stand
Be brave give it a try, might help desensitize you from the trauma associated with that song/movie combo. Yeah thats it..music therapy by J Mascis

December 5, 2001 at 9:51 pm #67097Yeah, that animal cookies scene .. yikes
Not that it really made the movie any worse, but recall how Bruce Willis and his fellas were screaming their lungs out at 10 G when using the gravity of the moon as a slingshot, but there’s just no way in hell one can even get the faintest sound out of one’s mouth at 10 G. Ridiculous.
