The Monkees – Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd + their debut albums.
I know The Monkees are frowned upon in certain circles, but not in mine.
They don’t exactly delve into the depths of the human psyche, nor do they explore uncharted musical territory, but there are plenty of other bands that takes care of that.

They`re often thought as a sub par Beatles and their tv show did`nt help them thought as serious. The usual hits on radio only give a little look into what they were about.

I would have to take more time to decide my favorite albums of the 1960’s but two SONGS from the ’60’s that I have wanted to hear over and over recently are: MC5..I can only give you everything and Jimi Hendrix…Little Wing. Seem to be speaking to me at this time.

Thanks for the reminder. And I realise I’m really stupid when it comes to decades, not only had I forgotten that velvet underground released their banana in the 60’s, I have also completely forgotten that the stooges released their debut in the 60’s. 1969, no fun, I wanna be your dog, no fun, real cool time. Terrific !

Good picks :) I think my favorite Hendrix song is Voodoo Chile, not the slight return but the long slow blues on Electric Ladyland.Fave MC5 song would be Kick Out The Jams 8)

The Stooges debut is good but they went over the top on Fun House and Raw Power.I think I should do a fave `70s list sometime.
