Hi Allison,
Couldn’t agree more about your comments on the Bob/ Grant split on Husker Du’s albums, songs that compliment each other perfectly I feel.
I’ll check out the Grant hart web site, some of his recent stuff is hard to get hold of in UK, though I do own some Nova Mob stuff. Think I’ll have to look a bit harder if what you say is true.
Do you know if bob Mould has a website, or if there is one dedicated to HD? It would be interseting to read what bob is doing now, we haven’t heard any more in Uk since LDAPS came out and he briefly toured – 2 years ago? seems longer.
Agree with you about J’s sad songs, he puts the emotional stuff over very eloquently. it’s sad but it’s good to know someone feels similar things to yourself.
J’s touring over here soon, i see him next Saturday – have you any idea what stuff he’s playing? Is it all Mascis and the Fog or will we hear some dino stuff?
John
May 24, 2001 at 10:25 pm #56861Hey John,
Bob Mould has a website…granarymusic.com although not a lot of new stuff coming out. Last saw him solo at an outdoor festival in Minneapolis 1999…very cool show, missed the LDAPS tour though…ahhhhh.
I think Ron Asheton is joining the Fog on some of the English shows, they do a good mix of old and new tunes. If you check under Tours on this board people have been posting tons of set lists thru the tour…pretty cool. Here is a link to an online concert from Paris …J Mascis and the Fog
http://www.labels.tm.fr/jmascisandthefog/index.shtmlMy new fav sad song by J Mascis is Let’s Go To Church…great song!!
Enjoy the show and let us know how it goes,
Allison

June 6, 2001 at 8:09 pm #56865Not that this is of any importance or anything, but for sure "There’s a tear in my beer" isn’t originally a Hank Williams Jr song, it’s his daddy’s, Hank Williams, basta! That being said, I don’t need some1 to get me a bucket when agreeing upon it being an excellent sad song.
