Since we`ve been ranking albums in open topic I thought I`d pull this up.
December 7, 2001 at 10:04 pm #57274great, i knew there had to be one of these already.
1. you’re living all over me
2. dinosaur
3. green mind
4. bug
5. where you been
6. hand it over
7. whatever’s cool with me
8. without a soundfor whatever reason i just assumed everyone’s favorite was YLAOM, so this was enlightening.
December 11, 2001 at 2:10 am #57275I agree with LittleFuryThing, YLAOM is one of my all time top ten! I couldn’t put an order of preference, it depends on my state of mind, and I’m very surprised about "Green Mind", when I first listened to this album I didn’t like it very much, but now I love "The Wagon", "I Live for that Look", "How d’ya…", "Thumb" and "Green Mind". After YLAOM, I’d choose "Dinosaur", then "Without a Sound, or maybe "Where You Been", or should I choose "Whatever’s Cool…." because of "Not You Again", "The Little Baby" and "Pebbles & Weeds"? Ok, better stop now, I’m getting confused!
December 14, 2001 at 7:15 am #57276I cannot choose-
However these are my top 5 – i think!
Where you Been
BBC SEssions
More Light
Bug
You’re living all over meOctober 18, 2002 at 10:23 am #57277i can’t believe some of you guys are rubbishing green mind?!!
this is by far my most fav DJr album. if you wanted to be critical of any of their albums you could say that they were a little one dimensional, but green mind has everything that you should love about the band. I listen to the tracks in this order: Thumb, Water, Muck, Flying Cloud, The Wagon, Blowing it,/i live for that look, how’d you pin, puke and cry. By the end of the wagon my spine is usually tingling and by the end i feel as if i want to listen to every one of their albums right now, becasue it has everything good about all their albums on the one album. i think it is the essential dino album.October 19, 2002 at 2:06 am #572781. Where You Been – the best album ever
2. Free so Free – Had it on constantly for the last week. Maybe I’m getting ahead myself putting this one so high up so early but I can’t stop listening to it in the way I did with Where You Been
3. Hand It Over – Damn fine songs.
4. Greenmind – Very different to all J’s other records. This one seems very drum lead to me. The songs are some of his best and with a bit more guitar the album would have been higher.
5. Bug – Oooooh the guitar!
6. You’re Living all Over Me – Pure genius, although I’ve put it down the list as I think you have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. At least I do.
7. More Light – Not his best work but still better than most other bands albums.
8. Without a Sound – Too many average songs on this one for me. Not his best.
9. Dinosaur – Sounds like a band trying to figure out what they want to sound like – which I guess is what it is! Still fucking great though!!Have I missed any……
