                  Canadians just got hit with a tax on MP3 players based on memory capacity, anywhere from 2 to 25 bucks. They wanted an increase of 20% on the levy for recordable blank cd’s, cassettes & minidisks, didn’t get it :P

                  They were also looking to tax removeable memory devices, micro hard drives & blank dvd’s…denied :P :!:

                  Canada, the land where they tax everything :P :oops: :twisted:

                    Apparently downloading songs is legal in Canada, it’s the uploading thats illegal. The cria is threatening to start suing uploaders in the new year. The copyright laws are so different here in Canada, not sure that the cases will even make it to court…maybe thats the plan though. The Riaa threatened people with huge lawsuits but settled for a couple thousand, no doubt the cria is lame enuf to follow the riaa into the madness of suing their customers. Because, as the cria says ‘uploaders are killing the music they say they love’
