Well, after the 2 girls in Oregon (still not found), Elizabeth Smart in Utah (still not found), Samantha Runnion, here in Orange County, CA (kidnapped and murdered), et. al..

July 24, 2002 at 3:20 pm #70679Now, I’m not trying to cause trouble, but the four white girls are (probably) dead and the African-American girl is alive.
I think there’s a direct inverse relation between media coverage and survival chances. Or not.
July 24, 2002 at 4:34 pm #70680Agree completely Carl., pretty pleasing for seven years old. Chewed her way out of the duct tape, made her way upstairs and kicked out a window…
Not pretty much covers it Jaron.

July 24, 2002 at 5:03 pm #70681not to regurgitate allison but i am so amazed this 7 year old girl freakin’ chewed through the duct tape, made it upstairs to break a window and yelled to kids playing in front of the abandoned building where she was being held captive and those kids pulled her out to safety and another kid rode his bike to find the pigs(cops)who were eating lunch. she saved herself!!! but the cops who the kid on the bike found gave her 1/2 of a sandwich, so i guess it must be they saved her from hunger? erica deserves all the credit surviving, escaping, erica is brilliant, clever and an inspiration. wonder if she watches buffy the vampire slayer?
July 24, 2002 at 5:52 pm #70682This really is good news.
We should send her a "bad ass mutherfucker" t-shirt. Girls like labled clothing nowadays right?
Seriously though. I’m amazed she managed to chew through the duct tape. that’s not easy by any means.
Discussion question:
Is society creating better children or worse kidnappers?July 24, 2002 at 5:57 pm #70683
quote:
Originally posted by sarsaparilly:

It’s an escape like in the books I’d love to read when I was a kid whilst dreaming to end up a hero myself. Look at me now!! The only heroism is beating up den Buck with a game of snooker ;-(

How come you know about the difficulty of chewing through duct tape? Something you should be telling us about why Amanda is yet to succumb?
July 25, 2002 at 12:26 pm #70688Oh c’mon! Duct tape is hard enough to rip when you can get a good hold on it. Try eating something that is glued directly over your mouth. Teeth are much better at cutting down than forward.
