Even though he is a major headcase, Kordell is a fine athlete and did have a stellar season two years ago. His problem is when the chips are down, and the moment is too much for him.
Two years isn’t that bad either, Plus you can bring in Chandler when the pressure gets to be too much. Save the old guy and use him as a fourth quarter closer and a play-off star, which is when Kordell will most likely be on the bench in tears wishing his oversized coat was even larger so as to hide him completely from the outside world bearing down on his failed opportunity after failed opportunity to win when in counts.
Sorry but I suffered for years watching him throw the ball to godknowswho one to many times…
All this football talk is making me smile

 Pleased for Miller, he deserved another year, haven’t forgiven matthews yet for that eagles game
Still haven’t gotten used to the Kordell thing, good thing I have some time to deal with the trauma
March 29, 2003 at 4:56 pm #82172…..best of luck with the kordell thing, VF. i really never disliked the guy..(his abilities, anyway) as a QB. but he seems way too easily distracted by the media and stuff. the guy has the skillz, he’s just got to go out and play. i’m sure the chicago media will be all over him after his first mistake (chicago and pittsburgh being such hardcore football towns)…..he’s just gotta tune that shit out. and i’m still not sold on tommy maddox being the answer here in the ‘burgh.
March 29, 2003 at 6:45 pm #82173Liechtenstein – England : 0-2
Seems that England is having trouble beating supposedly much weaker enemies these days…..

(although I have to admit that the 1 all draw of Holland vs. the Czech Republic isn’t that much to be proud of as well…..

April 16, 2003 at 2:22 pm #82177Junior Seau – a Dolphin?? WTF??? That should never happen. He should have remained a Charger. Oh well, such is life under the NFL CBA.
Good pickup for Miami, as Junior should still be a serviceable backup linebacker.
Carl.
April 17, 2003 at 3:27 pm #82178That shocked me as well
I’m really glad we don’t play them this year, guy I work with still won’t let me forget that loss to the fins :slap: I still think wannstedts days are numbered in miami…the moustache may only last one more year
More strange news, vikings looking to deal culpepper to the ravens to up their draft pick…

Henry Burris our so called 3rd string qb recently benched in NFL Europe. Kordell called him to ask for number ten…burris wanted fifty grand to give up the number
Bears called him the next day, told him the number was gone & gave him 7500 bucks for the number…7500 too much in my opinion
April 26, 2003 at 11:08 am #82179Draft days this w/e, BEARS had a 4th round pick but gave it away for two later picks…13 + 22

I was looking forward to the hi pick as repayment for such a crappy season but…

Hope we get some decent players

Go BEARS Go
April 26, 2003 at 11:33 am #82180Come on, now.. Admit it.. There are some of you out there who watch the entire 2 days of draft coverage.. You know who you are..

Carl.
April 26, 2003 at 1:53 pm #82181I can’t watch the draft. Too much talk and it’s just really a list of names. I read the paper the next day and save time, however I try to catch the stillers pick, but alas they traded up, which they never do, and I missed it. Some Saftey kid from southern cal. I was hoping they’d get Larry Johnson, but the secondary is the problem so solutions seem started.
The Bears picked up Michael Haynes. He is a monster pass rusher and I think Bears fans will dig his skills and drive. They might have been hoping for Jimmy Kennedy, but the Rams grabed him which makes me sad. I hate the Rams but I like to root for Penn State kids in the pros.
Stillers next pick is 59th, which should be sometime next week at this pace…
April 26, 2003 at 5:15 pm #82182I can’t watch it either, waaaaaayyyyyy too much talk, they only show 1 1/2 hr of it here in Canada.
Pleased with Haynes, we are in big need of a pass rusher now that Colvins gone to the Patriots. We also picked up a qb Rex Grossman from Florida. Short @ 6’1", likes to party, reportedly kinda over confident as well…hmmmm hope he can play well!!!
Stillers picked SS Troy Polamalu… not sure about the 59th though
April 26, 2003 at 5:54 pm #82183i like the polamalu pick, the ‘lers secondary is in serious need of help, just hoping he can contribute right out of the gates. interesting that the bears bicked up grossman, i think he has alot of potential, training camp should be interesting for yinz bears fans, after all, jim miller beat out kordell for starting job while here in the ‘burgh….
