i have a question for real football fans. Our "soccor" team failed to qualify for the Olympics. The press here played it off that the Olympics don’t mean diddly anyway in the world of futbol. I know the World Cup is the real deal of all sporting events, but the olympics got to mean something, or maybe the US press people aren’t propaganda spinning statesman.
by the way, congrats to Coma Girl and all the Bears fans out there, that John Tait guy is important. Offensive Tackles are worth their weight in gold and then some. The Stillers need to address this position but seem content to have a weak at best line. Deuce is ok i guess, but i can’t get excited about him, I’m hoping and praying for Chris Gamble in the first round of the draft. They need a shut down corner so bad and he is a can’t miss athlete. I watched him beat Penn State by himself one year. Who knows what the future holds…
April 24, 2004 at 3:55 pm #94308BEARS select Oklahoma tackle Tommie Harris with their 14th overall pick

Since we have our O line taken care of with the addition of Tait ( I agree he’s a wicked pick up for the BEARS!), our D got the first pick in the draft today. This guys a monster, quick pass rusher, sounds perfect for our new D.
Things are looking good
April 29, 2004 at 3:44 pm #94309I know the stillers need a quarterback, but i hate first round picks on question marks. They they trade up in the second round to get a kid that played division 2 in college, i still think Chris Gamble was the pick at 11, they thought he wasn’t good enough that early, but in two years he’ll be a star and Big Ben might be sitting next to Ryan Leaf of Akili Smith. Quarter back is so hard to pull off in the pros. The steelers needed Corner backs and Takles (offensive). The guy they got from florda in round three looks like a monster so maybe all isn’t lost, time will tell and irate fans will yell, sunny day so i skipped sleep to attend the pirates game which is baseball not football but i don’t know where to post that trip. Sleep is needed as work is hours away. I love live sports, wish steeler tickets weren’t like gold. Pirates for 9 dollars. Sunny daze, dreaming my mind awayz
lazy still crazy

BEARS had a pretty pleasing draft, couple defensive tackles, corner back, wide receiver, qb…
Little concerned with the lack of experience at qb, we don’t have a veteran as back up, fingers crossed Grossman stays healthy! Some qb’s out there, Kerry Collins is available soon, Warners out there as well, hoping he doesn’t come to the Mighty BEARS though.
Mike Ditka has been hired by ESPN, brilliant move!!!
Good luck with that sleep, feeling the pain of shift work myself, thank god for caffeine

chris gamble is seriously overrated. there was no way the steelers draft could have gone any better. corners are just as risky as qbs, big ben shouldn’t have been there, it was a total nobrainer. do you really think tommy has three years left? i’d be surprised if he has one. not likely to draft that high soon again, i’d rather have ben then rivers. cb in the 2nd is going to be a player, and there weren’t any qbs there. the steelers need a qb like 2 years ago. they passed on pennington, they weren’t going to do it again
April 30, 2004 at 8:26 am #94312Man they could have had Jeff Smokier in the sixth round. He’s got the same chance as Big Ben. These kids get the right agent and the right press and next thing you know Mel Kiper is anointing them the next big deal, kids playing futbol americano. Corners and tackles. The game is won on the line. Tommy didn’t even have last year in him, it also was the first year i questioned cowher. I knew he was a good rah rah guy but he is revealing himself as a poor clock and game managment rage filled coach. Plus keeping Mark Bruner on the bench was dumb and trying to save the bus by benching him early backfires when you forget you must make the play-offs first. I still love them but it really looks ugly sometimes.
so
go Big Ben go
rah rah
April 30, 2004 at 10:24 am #94313sure they could have got smoker, who is a recovering drug addict, has less size, athletic ability, and doesn’t have an nfl arm. say what you will about mel, he is very rarely wrong. the game may be won on the line, but the only tackles worth drafting that high were gone. sorry, qb is the best position to draft high. and ben will be a great character fit for cowher/pittsburgh. i am so surprised that you don’t like this pick, really. the steelers aren’t going to the super bowl this year no matter who they draft, big ben is the best pick for the future.

Alas, despite giving the new German champions Werder Bremen a very hard time, Alemannia Aachen lost the German Cup Final (final score 3-2 to Werder), with a sold-out Berlin Olympia Stadium as the perfect background…., saw the game in a small pub on a big screen, with lots of Alemannia supporters (and a couple of beers  ), that was big fun as well!

So, no cup was won, but Alemannia gained themselves a place in next season’s UEFA Cup, not bad for a small second-league team, so Europe, watch out!
GO ALEMANNIA GO!!!
