:aliensmile:September 15, 2003 at 10:10 am #94025man, i took a beating on my picks yesterday……..i’m 8-7 so far, and have the giants tonight. my stillers got their asses handed to em in a bad, bad way..
. at least my fantasy team did pretty well….(excluding the stillers sloppy ‘D’)…..how did everyone else do?
September 15, 2003 at 12:17 pm #94026looks like i will win my fantasy game, unless shockey outscores collins by a ton. which isn’t likely.
i’ll count my picks up later, but i don’t think i did real well.
also, primanti bros style meant skimpy little sandwiches on TOAST. hardly any slaw.
it was a cool bar otherwise, $2.50 ic lights, which is cheap for dc beer, and it is rare that they have any iron city products there.September 15, 2003 at 12:25 pm #94027I’m 9-6, with the Giants tonite as well
Jamal Lewis runs for almost 300 yards, he said before the game would do that…shocking

BEARS played a little bit better last nite, not that it means anything

Kordell hurt his neck when he banged into this 375lb BEAR guards butt

Bye week ahead for the BEARS, wonder if we’ll see any coaching changes, I’d love to see Art Shell take over…please all I ask is NO DENNIS GREEN I just couldn’t BEAR it
September 15, 2003 at 2:39 pm #94028I’m 10 – 5, with the Giants tonight…
What about Cedric Wilson trying to score a TD when all SF needed was a field goal to win??
And Carolina blocking 2 FG’s and an extra point (with 0:00 left)…
and Cincyalmost beating the Raiders (damn, I was rooting for the Bengals too)
Good week of Football concludes tonight with a crappy game. I hate Dallas.
September 15, 2003 at 3:06 pm #94029I’m 9-6 with the Giants tonight as well. As a Cowboy fan I’m just hoping they don’t get embarrassed on National tv. (Carl, I didn’t think anyone even bothered hating the cowboys anymore, with how bad they’ve been the last few years!)
Jamal Lewis went off. How they hell does a 235 lb RB outrun a Free Safety, or a couple of Corners?
That Cedric Wilson thing was crazy! Jimmy Johnson would’ve cut him after that.
The Panther D was impressive. They are my fantasy defense, and those blocked kicks kept points off the board.
How about the Eagles? I felt bad for Donavon. He’ wasn’t sharp, but he doesnt have anything to work with. The Eagles have no running game, or don’t try to establish one, and his WR’s get no seperation from the DB’s.
Kordell and the Bears didn’t look too bad. Maybe they can get things going in the next few weeks. The division can be had by anyone, except the Lions.
I’m really happy that Priest Holmes seems healthy again. When I saw him get hurt, it reminded me of the Bo Jackson injury. Its great to see him playing so well.
Take care,
TomP.s. Both of Jurevicious’s td catches in week 1 were amazing!
September 15, 2003 at 3:39 pm #94030We did some good things, just nowhere near enuf of them last nite. It was nice to see A Train making some cuts & gaining yards for a change. Until of course shoop kept calling that up the gut play when the opposing D is stacked against the run…

Our pro bowl receiver Booker was ignored, David Terrell made a wicked TD catch but dropped the pass to keep us in the game. Our O line obviously has issues, Lacina played pretty good considering he’s only been with us four days…took care of Hovan most of the game

Hopefully we can get it together by the 29th, home opener in the New Soldier Field against the pack

Priest Holmes was amazing to watch, too bad it came against The Steelers D

Hope Dallas plays well tonite, The Tuna is a great coach, just needs time to get the team in shape.
I’d love to see a Parcells-Shockey MNF Death Match

ps I hope we have better luck in our new stadium than the Eagles are having in their new home….god
September 15, 2003 at 3:57 pm #94031god’s shoeshine, you shoulda known that anything labeled a primanti bros. "style" sandwich would be sub-par…….hopefully you pounded numerous IC lights enough to distract you from the ‘lers inept defensive play……..tim lewis is gonna rip that ‘D’ squad a new one in practice this week…..another good week of football though, still can’t get over jamal lewis’ stats….and i passed him up in my fantasy league (but i got ahman green instead
)September 16, 2003 at 9:34 am #94032even the friends from san jose that met up with us were lauging at the sammiches. "primanti’s isn’t on toast!" even out of towners know. have to wait almost a month before i get satisfaction

the d.c. pink robots destroyed the competition in my fantasy football league. stillrz get cinci next week. the bungles always make me nervous.
September 16, 2003 at 10:33 am #94033What in the hell happened last night??? That was an amazing game, but I hate squib kicks. They do not take any time off the clock. Just kick it deep, and have faith in your coverage team (it is not like Dallas has a well known, great return man).. That was some great special teams coaching by Dallas, though. Having a young guy NOT try to grab the ball and attempt to make a big play has to be the coaching.
BUT, it was a LONG game.. Even if it would have ended in regualtion, it was close to 9:30 PM PDT.
So, I finish the week 10 – 6.
I promise, I will do worse next week.
Carl.
p.s. The Brick Testament RULES, by the way..
September 16, 2003 at 10:52 am #94034Definitely a great game, gotta love Parcells winning against The Giants in NYC
